The Geocore platform defines the physical boundaries where different products (eg. Uber X, Uber Eats) are allowed to operate in the world and what experiences our users see in the app. You will work with a variety of technologies including Go and Java to support the vast geospatial needs of Uber's product lines.\nBasic Qualifications\nA Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field. Masters preferred. \n4+ years of experience in professional software development experience, developing and deploying systems in production environments\nKnowledge of different compilation steps (and ability to fix) in languages such as Go, C, C++, or Java.\nExcellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to document architectures and algorithms. \nExperience with Software Engineering Best Practices, including AI-assisted development\nPreferred Qualifications\nExperience with distributed systems\nExperience with geospatial data and location-based services.\nExperience with Go, Java\nWhat You Will Do\nDevelop and implement APIs to serve geospatial data\nDesign and build data pipelines to support machine learning workflows.\nDesign and Develop improvements to Uber's geofencing solutions\nDocument novel algorithms for improving Uber's geofencing solutions\n For San Francisco, CA-based roles: The base salary range for this role is USD $202,000 per year - USD $224,000 per year.\nYou will be eligible to participate in Uber's bonus program, and may be offered an equity award & other types of comp. All full-time employees are eligible to participate in a 401(k) plan.
