Experimentation is an exciting domain that combines multiple disciplines of Software Engineering (Backend, Distributed Systems, Mobile, Web, Data Infra), Data Science, and Product Design.\nEvery major launch across any of Uber’s Rides, Delivery, Earner, Freight, and Uber For Business (U4B) organizations leverages the Experimentation platform to determine how new features impact key business metrics. Virtually all Engineers, Scientists, and Product Managers at the company use our platform on a daily basis to launch, monitor, test, and make changes to Uber’s ecosystem.\nWhy it matters\nVelocity with Confidence: By automating experiment design, rollout, and analysis, we reduce the cost of iteration and let teams validate the impact of features our members love.\nCompany Wide Reach: Virtually every engineer, data scientist, and product manager touches our platform daily to launch, monitor, and refine Uber’s ecosystem.\nBusiness Impact at Scale: Decisions backed by our tooling safeguard core metrics while empowering innovators to push boundaries.\nWhat you’ll do\nYour main responsibilities will be:\nBe responsible for the design, implementation, and delivery of complex projects\nBuild highly reliable and resilient features in our iOS Mobile SDK\nCollaborate with cross-functional mobile developer teams to enable and support the business\nIdentify and fix bugs and reliability of current systems\nBring in your passionate self and positively impact the team around you\nBasic Qualifications \nBachelor’s degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics or related field OR 5-years full-time Software Engineering work experience, WHICH INCLUDES 3-years total technical software engineering experience in one or more of the following specialized areas:\niOS development\nSwift programming\nObjective C programming\nNote the 3-year total of specialized software engineering experience may have been gained through education and full-time work experience, additional training, coursework, research, or similar (OR some combination of these). The year of specialized experience is not necessarily in addition to the years of Education & full-time work experience indicated.\nPreferred Qualifications\nExperience in other mobile platform engineering teams (versus product engineering teams)\nDeep iOS SDK/Framework Development: Experience in architecting and optimizing complex mobile libraries, with a strong focus on low-level performance, caching, and storage behavior to ensure the core platform is fast and reliable.\nPlatform Tooling and Automation: Expertise in building developer utilities, CI/CD pipelines, or sophisticated tooling that automates processes like feature rollout, validation, and auto-rollback to improve developer safety and velocity.\n Experimentation Systems: Experience or interest in working on the core logic behind feature flags, A/B testing, and rollout control, helping to shape the future of how new features are delivered to millions of users.\nFor San Francisco, CA-based roles: The base salary range for this role is USD $202,000 per year - USD $224,000 per year.\nYou will be eligible to participate in Uber's bonus program, and may be offered an equity award & other types of comp. All full-time employees are eligible to participate in a 401(k) plan.
