We are currently looking for a highly skilled Backend Software Engineer (Go) to our team in Stockholm or Malmö, Sweden.\nPlease note that applicants must live in Sweden and hold a valid work permit at the time of application to be considered for this role.\nResponsibilities:\nDesign, develop, and maintain efficient, scalable, secure, and reliable backend services for UniFi OS and/or other applications across UniFi\nDesign and implement robust RESTful APIs and services using Golang\nDevelop applications and services for embedded platforms, integrating closely with network device firmware, hardware, and other applications\nArchitect and document backend software systems with a focus on performance, scalability, security, and maintainability\nPerform network programming and system-level integration across multiple subsystems\nIntegrate new features into larger software systems and connected device ecosystems\nCollaborate closely with cloud architects, backend and frontend engineers, UX designers, QA engineers, and other stakeholders to deliver cohesive product experiences\nParticipate in code reviews, technical discussions, and knowledge sharing to continuously improve engineering quality and practices\nTake ownership of deliverables and consistently meet project timelines and quality expectations\nRequirements:\n5+ years of professional software development experience using Golang in production environments\nStrong experience with relational databases such as PostgreSQL or MySQL, including database design and application integration\nExperience with NoSQL databases and data storage technologies\nDemonstrated expertise in designing and developing RESTful APIs\nExperience with MQTT and asynchronous or event-driven communication patterns\nStrong experience developing and operating software in Linux environments\nExperience with Docker and containerized applications\nExperience with Git/GitHub and modern software development workflows\nGood understanding of software design principles, including SOLID, maintainable architecture, and clean code practices\nStrong analytical and problem-solving skills with a proactive and adaptable mindset\nAbility to work independently and take ownership of technical decisions, tasks, and responsibilities\nExcellent written and verbal communication skills\nHighly proficient in English, both written and spoken\nNice to have:\nStrong understanding of networking protocols, architectures, and network programming\nFamiliarity with the Linux networking stack, routing, firewall management, and packet analysis tools such as tcpdump and Wireshark\nExperience developing or maintaining IoT platforms, connected device ecosystems, or embedded applications\nKnowledge of IoT and real-time communication protocols such as MQTT, CoAP, WebSockets, and WebRTC\nFamiliarity with Matter and Thread, including their architecture, security, and implementation considerations\nUnderstanding of device provisioning, firmware-over-the-air (OTA) updates, and device lifecycle management\nExperience with edge computing, cloud-to-device integration patterns, telemetry collection, real-time data processing, and time-series databases\nExperience with asynchronous programming and event-driven architectures\nExperience with AWS, cloud services, and DevOps practices.\nExperience with SD-WAN, VPN, routing, or related networking technologies.\nFamiliarity with Debian/Ubuntu, Linux application and service development, Bash, Unix, and CLI
