The mission of the Department of Housing and Residence Life is to provide students living in university housing with safe, well-maintained facilities and programs that are conducive to student learning and success.\nThe Opportunity:\nUCF's Student Success and Well-Being's Housing and Residence Life division is seeking a Housing Assignment Assistant to serve as a trusted point of contact for students, families, and staff - providing responsive, accurate, and caring support across multiple channels. You'll be part of a dynamic team that keeps the housing operation running smoothly by managing critical administrative processes, coordinating assignments, and contributing to the day-to-day functions of the Housing Administration Building. This is an opportunity to work at the heart of student life at one of the nation's leading public research universities, where your organizational skills, attention to detail, and commitment to service make a tangible difference. You'll collaborate with a dedicated team, leverage housing and university management systems, and help ensure every student finds their place.\nResponsibilities:\nAnswer incoming telephone calls for the Department of Housing and Residence Life. Give accurate information to callers and/or transfer them to the appropriate staff member or department.\nTrain other staff members and student assistants on the proper use of the phone system.\nUtilize computer systems, including but not limited to StarRez and PeopleSoft, to find and distribute accurate information to callers. \nRespond to student and parent questions/requests via the department email. \nMaintain passwords and access to departmental email and organizational accounts. \nProvide back-up coverage for front desk of Housing Services as needed.\nRepresent the department at university events, such as Open House or Orientation. \nPerform processes in StarRez, PeopleSoft, or other management systems as directed, to assist with cancellations, room assignments, room changes, etc.\nMinimum Qualifications:\nHigh School Diploma or Equivalent and 0+ years of relevant experience.\nPreferred Qualifications:\nExperience working in a higher education or similar setting. \nFamiliarity working with housing or student information management systems, such as StarRez or PeopleSoft. \nSkilled at providing customer service in a fast-paced, high-volume administrative environment. Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.\nAdditional Application Materials Required:\nApplications without a resume will not be considered.
