The job involves extensive utilization of Hospitals' systems and constant interaction with patients, therapy services staff members, physicians (referral sources), 3rd party payors, and other members of the Hospitals' staff.\nEssential Job Functions\nSchedules all clinic appointments in EPIC for new referrals and return visits via basket, telephone, fax or email. Triage calls appropriately for requesting preliminary appointments; exercises judgment in referring emergency calls.\n\nMaintains all clinic schedules once submitted\n\nChecks in patients upon arrival, assembles paperwork for new patients, notifies therapist\n\nAnswers and direct internal and external phone calls verifying demographics, guarantor, insurance and financial data required for billing.\n\nOrders office supplies, as approved by Office Manager\n\nManage patients check in (billhold) with accuracy and within established department timeframes.\n\nDemonstrates flexibility to support onsite or any satellite clinic hours\n\nObtains authorization for treatment from managed care organizations and/or explains self-pay options to patients.
