We've been entertaining, informing and challenging the UC community, sharing the stories that matter to students across print and digital platforms.\nCreated by students, for students, Canta is all about celebrating student voices, sparking conversations and keeping campus life interesting.\nAs Managing Editor, you'll be the creative force behind Canta, leading a talented student team, shaping content and bringing fresh ideas to life. From producing the magazine to growing our digital presence, this is your opportunity to put your stamp on one of UC's most iconic student platforms.\nWhat You'll Be Doing\nLead the creative direction - Shape Canta's content, identity and presence across printdigital and social media platforms.\n\nBring stories to life - Oversee the production of the magazine help deliver content that connects with UC students.\n\nLead your team - Manage, motivate and collaborate with a talented team of student creatives and contributors.\n\nKeep your finger on the pulse - Stay connected to campus culture, student issues and the stories UC students actually want to see.\n\nMake it happen - Coordinate magazine and digital content deadlines, platform distribution and the day-to-day running of Canta.\n\nKeep things on track - Work alongside the UCSA to support Canta advertising requirements, budgets and ensure content meets editorial standards.\n\nIs This You?\nYou're a current University of Canterbury student with a passion for media, storytelling and giving students a voice.\nYou might be studying journalism, communications, media or a related field, or you might simply have a strong leadership background and love bringing multimedia content to life with the experience to back it up.\nWe're looking for someone who brings:\nA passion for writing, storytelling, publishing and digital content.\n\nExperience or skills in areas such as leadership, journalism, social media, or other creative media.\n\nThe confidence to lead, motivate and collaborate with a team.\n\nFresh ideas, creativity and an understanding of what makes student media engaging.\n\nStrong communication and organisational skills, with the ability to juggle competing priorities and meet deadlines.\n\nInitiative, enthusiasm and the drive to make Canta the best it can be.\n\nMost importantly, you're someone who understands student life, isn't afraid to think differently and wants to make Canta a platform that UC students love.\nWhy Join Canta?\nThis isn't just another student job.
