Our team delivers everything from 3500 pax Music Festivals, Markets, Wellbeing initiatives, Awards Ceremonies, Concerts, BBQs, Coffee Mornings and everything else in between.\nIf you are ready to join our team of Event Coordinators and help deliver a calendar of epic events for UC Students, we want to hear from you!\nAbout You\nWhether you've recently graduated or gained experience through student clubs, volunteering, internships, or community events, we'd love to hear from you. What matters most is your enthusiasm for events, willingness to learn, and passion for creating memorable experiences for students.\nWorking alongside our Events Team, you'll help plan, coordinate and deliver a wide range of student-focused events. You'll contribute to event planning, create run sheets, coordinate suppliers and stakeholders, support event delivery, and assist with post-event evaluations.\nAn understanding of event planning processes would be beneficial, however we are equally interested in candidates who are eager to learn and develop their event management skills. You need to enjoy collaborating, be comfortable in a high-pace environment, be organised, and have excellent communication skills.\nDue to the nature of the role and the organisation, an affinity for and understanding of students is important.\nImportant Skills & Qualifications\n· Studying towards a degree (or equivalent) in a relevant field (e.g. event management, marketing, tourism, hospitality, communications) is desirable\n· Experience planning or supporting events is desirable and may have been gained through university clubs, volunteering, internships, community groups, or paid employment.\n· A creative, enquiring mind and the ability to “think outside the box”\n· Ability to work in a team and great sense of humour\n· Has a particular empathy and appreciation for students and the diverse ethnic, socio-economic, genders of the student body, staff and clients.\n· A good understanding of what it means to work in a bi-culturally competent environment, or the openness to learn and grow in this space\n· Current and full drivers’ licence (desirable)\nAbout UCSA\nNau Mai Ki Te Rōpū Akonga ō Te Whare Wānanga ō Waitaha\nWelcome to The University of Canterbury Students’ Association (UCSA)\nEstablished in 1894, the UCSA is a registered not-for-profit organisation that supports UC students to succeed and belong.\nOur organisation is governed by an elected Student Executive, and we employ over 300 staff.
