Participants complete structured rotations in retail, yard operations, receiving, logistics, and supporting corporate departments.\nThroughout the program, participants will:\nBuild knowledge of products, inventory flow, and operational processes\nGain experience with retail systems, documentation, and procedures\nDevelop communication, teamwork, leadership, and problem-solving skills\nLearn best practices in safety, compliance, merchandising, and customer service\nReceive ongoing coaching, feedback, and exposure to frontline leadership\nSuccessful completion of the program helps prepare participants for future leadership opportunities, including Assistant Store Manager, Yard Manager, and other field leadership roles. Placement into a specific position is not guaranteed and will depend on individual performance, business needs, and available opportunities.\nWho This Program Is For\nThis program is designed for individuals interested in pursuing a career in operations and field leadership.\nIdeal candidates may include:\nPost-secondary students\nRecent graduates\nEarly career professionals\nEnrollment in, or graduation from, a relevant post-secondary program is considered an asset.\nPosition Summary\nThe Future Field Leader Trainee supports daily store, yard, receiving, and site operations while delivering exceptional customer service in alignment with company standards. Through structured rotations, participants gain practical experience in operational execution, inventory management, safety standards, and leadership practices.\nAs participants progress through the program, they may be assigned increased responsibility based on performance, learning objectives, and rotation requirements.\nThis may include leading designated tasks, shifts, or projects under supervision.\nTraining and certifications, such as WHMIS, TDG, and equipment training, will be provided as needed. This role is designed for individuals seeking a long-term career in Operations Leadership and may lead to future leadership opportunities within the organization.\nKey Responsibilities\n(Responsibilities will vary by rotation.)\nDeliver professional, customer-focused service in person and by phone.\nAssist customers with product selection, purchases, and issue resolution\nSupport sales activities, customer relationship management, and lead follow-up\nProcess cash, billing, POS transactions, and administrative tasks\nReceive, verify, scan, and document incoming and outgoing inventory\nSupport shipping, order fulfillment, inventory counts, and stock replenishment\nMaintain clean, organized, and safe work environments\nAssist with merchandising and inventory presentation\nSupport fuel, inventory, and equipment reconciliation activities where applicable\nFollow all health, safety, and regulatory requirements\nSupport special projects, seasonal events, and cross-functional initiatives\nGain operational leadership exposure through shadowing, coaching, and assigned responsibilities\nComplete program learning objectives and development requirements\nSupport customer service, supply chain, and other business functions as assigned\nQualifications\nEnrollment in a post-secondary program or recent graduation from a relevant field is considered an asset\nLeadership experience through work, school, sports, or volunteer activities is an asset\n1-3 years of working experience.\nDemonstrated initiative, accountability, teamwork, and leadership potential\nStrong interest in operations, retail, supply chain, agriculture, or customer service\nStrong interpersonal and communication skills\nAbility to work effectively in a team environment\nWillingness to learn, adapt, and take on new challenges\nBasic computer skills\nAbility to perform physical work, including lifting up to 25 kg\nFlexibility to work evenings, weekends, and varying schedules as required\nWillingness and ability to relocate and work at locations throughout Alberta and Saskatchewan during the rotational program\nYou and UFA.
