This role involves performing scheduled preventative maintenance, troubleshooting mechanical issues, and ensuring compliance with safety and regulatory standards. The technician works under indirect supervision and supports fleet operations by ensuring equipment reliability and safety.\nPrincipal Duties and Responsibilities\nPerform routine and scheduled preventative maintenance on medium and heavy-duty vehicles and equipment. \nPerform reactive maintenance as needed. \nInspect, diagnose, and repair mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems. \nUtilize diagnostic tools and software to identify issues and perform corrective actions. \nMaintain accurate records of maintenance activities, inspections, and repairs. \nPractice safety awareness in all tasks, including lock-out/tag-out procedures and adherence to OSHA standards. \nCollaborate with fleet operations and other departments to ensure equipment readiness and minimize downtime. \nOrganize parts, tools, and materials in designated areas for efficient workflow. \nLift, move, push, pull, and carry materials and components weighing up to 50 lbs unassisted. \nDisplay a positive, team-oriented attitude and support management objectives. \nPosition requires a 40-hour work week with the opportunity for overtime when it is deemed necessary to support the operation. \nWork on a Saturday may be required as deemed necessary by supervisor. \nOperate various equipment needed to move tractor-trailers around the yard and test equipment after repairs are made. \nQualifications\nHigh School diploma or GED required. \n3-5 years of experience in maintenance and repair of medium/heavy-duty transportation equipment preferred. \nValid state driver’s license required; Class A CDL’s or the ability to obtain a Class A CDL required. \nKnowledge of DOT and FMCSA regulations as they pertain to maintenance and operation of transportation equipment. \nStrong troubleshooting skills and ability to read and interpret vehicle schematics and service manuals. \nBasic knowledge and use of computer systems and familiarity with Microsoft systems. \nFamiliarity with hand and power tools including hydraulic jacks, pneumatic tools, cordless drills, and diagnostic equipment. \nWillingness to learn and use precision measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, and dial indicators. \nAbility to work safely and effectively with a variety of mechanical systems. \nAbility to self-manage and set work priorities without direct supervision. \nMust provide personal tools as required. \nHourly Pay Range: $25-$35/hour\nIncentive pay may be available for certain job roles and may include piece rate incentives, weekly production bonuses, trip rates, and employee referral bonuses.
