We offer a wide variety of wood structural components, aluminum decks and rails, and cold formed steel structural components.\nWe're currently looking for a Plant Manager to join the team in Berlin, NJ. The Plant Manager is responsible for the overall leadership, management, and coordination of sawmill operations to ensure the safe, efficient, and profitable production of lumber products. This role oversees production, maintenance, quality control, inventory management, and workforce performance while driving continuous improvement in safety, productivity, cost control, and operational excellence. The Plant Manager works under the general direction of the Regional Director of Operations (RDO) or Director of Operations (DO) and is accountable for achieving production, quality, and financial objectives.\nPrinciple Duties and Responsibilities\nEnsures that all plant assets are properly managed and safeguarded.\nStaffs, develops, and coaches the production management team, evaluates performance, and initiates corrective action as required.\nDevelops and/or approves the master production schedule and shipping schedule as well as coordinating production activities between shifts and other functions.\nAssists in developing capital expenditure recommendations.\nEstablishes quality standards for operations and initiates and manages quality improvement initiatives.\nEnsures the plant is properly staffed to meet production levels and goals.\nMonitors plant output, cuts/yields and scrap to ensure efficient resource utilization and initiates corrective action as required.\nEnsures appropriate production data is entered into the system.\nEstablishes the use of raw material, work-in-process, and finished goods and coordinates inventory requirements with management consistent with inventory levels/turnover goals and coordinates month-end inventories.\nResponsible for ensuring the yard meets Company conditions and is laid out for efficient operations.\nAnalyzes production operations and initiates corrective actions to ensure efficient product flow.\nMonitors expenses, reviews P&L and other financial and business documents to compare to budget and initiates corrective action as required.\nManages activities of the Maintenance Department.\nEnsures the plant complies with HR Company policies and procedures and Federal, State and local laws, rules and regulations.\nParticipates as an active member of the plant Safety Committee and ensures that plant operations are consistent with Company and OSHA policies, practices, and procedures.\nPrepares various reports as required.\nPerforms other duties as required.\nQualifications\nMinimum of five years of work experience as a production manager or equivalent is required.\nPreferred experience and knowledge of UFP’s organization, culture, and product lines\nWorking knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, and Outlook\nForklift operator certification is required\nWorking knowledge of shipping truck capacities\nSalary Pay Range: Starting base pay $85,000 -
