The Senior Payroll Analyst will partner with operations personnel, Human Resources, Finance, Tax and the Accounting departments to ensure that proper payroll accounting and reporting is efficient and accurate while maintaining UFP Policy and values.\nLocation\nThis role will be fully on-site, based out of our Grand Rapids, MI location.\nPrincipal Duties and Responsibilities\nPartners with HR Payroll Manager to enhance and improve efficiencies in overall payroll processing and reporting.\nPartners with Tax, Finance, Treasury and Plant personnel with analysis of payroll inquiries.\nManages the withholding and unemployment tax compliance, including monthly, quarterly and annual tax filings and registrations.\nEnsures the proper taxation of company provided employee fringe benefits.\nHandles all Department of Labor (DOL) inquiries and reporting.\nAssists Sr. HR Manager with gathering, verifying, and submitting HR information to UFP’s independent auditors/third party on an as needed basis.\nGather and provide third party sick pay information to payroll for processing.\nProject Management as they are assigned.\nPerforms other duties as assigned.\nJob Specifications\nKnowledge\nBachelor’s degree in business, Accounting, HR, Finance, or equivalent experience.\nMinimum 5 years of payroll reporting (Accounting/Tax) required, 10 years preferred.\nMinimum 3 years of payroll processing experience preferred.\nStrong working knowledge of payroll and accounting\nAdvanced knowledge of ADP Smart Compliance\nDemonstrated advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office including Excel and Word.\nWorking knowledge of Workday HCM preferred.\nSkills and abilities\nProficiency in the use of the English language in reading, writing and speaking\nStrong communication skills, written and oral\nAbility to successfully interact with all organizational levels and the public\nAbility to work in an environment of growth and continuous improvement\nAbility to manage several activities/projects at once, to organize and prioritize work, and to meet deadlines\nAbility to be mobile in the work environment\nAbility to pass a drug test\nConduct\nSelf-starter; works well under little supervision\nHighly motivated and enthusiastic\nAssertive and persuasive\nGood reasoning and sound judgment\nHighly empathetic to employee issues while enforcing sound business principles\nDiscretion in handling confidential information\nUnderstands, embraces and promotes Company culture\nWorking Conditions\nWorking environment is favorable.
