Database Administration\nManage and support multiple database platforms, including Oracle, MS SQL Server, and DB2.\nEnsure database performance, availability, reliability, and security.\nManage database capacity planning and performance monitoring.\nSupport database installation, configuration, maintenance, and upgrades.\nManage database user access and security.\nApply security patches and ensure systems remain up to date.\nSupport 24/7 database operations and critical business systems.\n2. Database Infrastructure & Projects\nSupport the implementation of database infrastructure projects.\nParticipate in database architecture and infrastructure design.\nPlan for scalability, high availability, and future capacity requirements.\nPrepare project plans and coordinate technical activities with internal teams.\nSupport database upgrades and migrations.\nEvaluate database technologies and solutions based on business requirements.\n3. Disaster Recovery & Business Continuity\nDevelop, implement, and test database disaster recovery solutions.\nMaintain production, disaster recovery, and testing environments.\nParticipate in DR testing and recovery exercises.\nEnsure critical databases and applications can be restored within required timelines.\n4. Application & Core Systems Support\nSupport database administration for critical enterprise applications.\nProvide technical support for core banking and digital banking systems.\nMonitor system performance and resolve database-related issues.\nCoordinate with application, infrastructure, and other IT teams for smooth operations.\n5. Security, Compliance & Licensing\nMaintain database policies, procedures, and technical standards.\nEnsure the security and integrity of databases.\nManage database licenses and ensure compliance with licensing requirements.\nReduce unnecessary dependency on external vendors by strengthening internal technical capabilities.\nFollow relevant IT service management, security, and governance standards.\n6. Performance & Automation\nIdentify opportunities to automate routine database administration activities.\nImprove database performance and operational efficiency.\nProactively identify potential issues and recommend improvements.\nPlan maintenance activities and communicate potential downtime to relevant stakeholders.\nQualifications\nBachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.\nMaster's degree in Computer Applications or a related field is an advantage.\nRelevant certifications in Oracle, MS SQL, DB2, ITIL, cybersecurity, or database administration are an advantage.\nExperience\nMinimum 8 years of experience in Information Technology.\nAt least 5 years of experience in a similar database administration role, preferably within the banking or financial services sector.\nStrong hands-on experience with multiple RDBMS, data warehouse systems, and operating systems.\nExperience working in 24/7 operational environments.\nExperience managing large-scale databases and environments with high numbers of concurrent users.\nExperience working with multiple database technologies.\nExperience with critical enterprise or banking applications is preferred.\nTechnical Skills\nStrong knowledge of Oracle, MS SQL Server, and DB2.\nDatabase administration and performance tuning.\nWindows and UNIX/Linux operating systems.\nApplication and web servers.\nStorage technologies such as SAN/NAS.\nDisaster recovery and high-availability solutions.\nDatabase security and access management.\nIT infrastructure
