You will recommend alternative or supporting approaches to address laboratory needs and contributes to the development of new products, procedures, and test methods. You will conducts analyses using analytical tools and applications, supports internal and external customers by providing technical solutions, and serves as a knowledgeable resource within the functional area.\nHow You Will Make an Impact:\nPerforms complex experiments under minimal supervision.\nMust be able to work and contribute to a team environment.\nIssues reports in verbal and written formats in a timely fashion and at specified intervals.\nHandles multiple assignments and coordinates with others.\nAssists in the maintenance, calibration, and repair of laboratory equipment.\nDevelops proficiency in communication skills within functional units.\nAble to independently operate the primary equipment in the application lab including basic troubleshooting and preventive maintenance skills.\nKnowledgeable in the operation of Internal mixers, two-roll mills and small-scale extruders.\nIs knowledgeable of hazardous/non-hazardous waste generation practices.\nMaintains equipment in working order.\nIndependently conducts simple and routine analytical qualitative and quantitative chemical and physical testing.\nOperate rubber testing instrumentation such as Rheometers, Physical testing equipment, DMA, etc.\nEvaluate materials for compliance with standards and specifications.\nMaintain and periodically review and revise inventory of rubber chemicals.\nMaintains legible, neat and organized laboratory records.\nAdhere to company EH&S regulations, SI Group Responsible Care practices and ISO 9000 programs\nMaintain a clean and safe laboratory and working environment.\nWorks with supervision to ensure data integrity and verify that their work is correct.\nMaintains established quality control documentation.\nCreating Extraordinary Starts With:\nBS degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Material Science or any physical sciences with at least 2 years related industrial experience\nExperience in rubber and/or adhesives preferred \nWhat We Value:\nWe strive for all employees to nurture physical, mental and emotional health both personally and professionally.
