This role can also offer blended working after probationary period (6 months) - 3 days in the office and 2 remote\nClose Date: 01/11/2026\nWe also provide the following additional benefits\n25 Days Annual Leave plus bank holidays.\nReservist Leave - Additional 18 days full pay and 22 unpaid\nPersonal Pension Plan - Personal contribution rates of 4% or 5% (UK Power Networks will make a corresponding contribution of 8% or 10%)\nTenancy Loan Deposit Scheme, Season Ticket Loan\nTax efficient benefits: Cycle to Work, Home & Tech, and Green Car Leasing Schemes\nOccupational Health support\nSwitched On - scheme providing discount on hundreds of retailers' products\nDiscounted gym membership\nEmployee Assistance Programme\nJob Purpose:\nAs the in-house expert on aspects of billing, who has strong analytical skills and enjoys working with numbers and complex data and scenarios, you will play a key role in managing the day-to-day activities that generate the bulk of UK Power Networks' £2 billion annual income and dealing with queries arising from those.\nIn this role, you will lead on:\nPrepare, raise, and issue invoices to electricity suppliers and Independent Distribution Network Operators (IDNOs), ensuring all invoice data and supporting information is accurate and complete.\nAllocate bank payments promptly and accurately, including identifying invoices being paid and allocating cross-company payments.\nChase outstanding balances, including applying and managing penalties for non-payment.\nMaintain and update standing data with a high level of attention to detail to ensure alignment of billing data with industry systems.\nAnalyse large datasets to support billing queries, dispute resolution, and investigation of data anomalies.\nWork across two billing engines as part of the Market-wide Half-Hourly Settlement (MHHS) transition, ensuring accuracy and consistency in a dual-system environment.\nAssess and resolve an increased volume of standing-data queries, driven by MHHS and the need to validate data across both billing platforms.\nManage relationships with 220 electricity suppliers and IDNOs, acting as a primary point of contact for billing-related matters.\nCollaborate with senior management, providing information and insight to support decision-making.\nCollaborating with Pricing and Contract Management Teams, ensuring accuracy of account set-up.\nSystem testing, for industry led change and user driven enhancement\nVendor engagement, working with system developers to identify and resolve system issues or required enhancements.\nWe ask that you have a strong eye for detail, confidence working with complex data, and the ability to communicate clearly with both external stakeholders and internal leadership. Your analytical capability and commitment to accuracy will help ensure billing is completed efficiently, correctly, and in line with regulatory expectations. The same diligence will need to be applied to system testing activities.\nSkills & Qualifications\nEssential\nFive GCSEs (A-C or 9-4)* or equivalent (including English and Mathematics).\nStrong numeracy and excellent attention to detail, with the ability to work accurately with large datasets.\nClear written and verbal communication skills, able to present information confidently to all partners.\nDesirable\nExperience in a commercial or financial environment is an advantage, but not essential.\nHealth & Safety Responsibilities:\nManagers and supervisors carry both legal and company responsibilities for ensuring the health and safety of their employees, those under their control and those who might be affected by the work undertaken, i.e. public, visitors and employees of other organisations.
