You will be responsible for establishing the enterprise data foundation that powers cloud financial governance, forecasting, unit economics, optimization intelligence, and the AskFinOps AI Agent.\n\nThis role combines deep technical expertise, platform architecture, and strategic leadership to transform cloud cost management from a reporting function into a scalable, automated, and AI-enabled operating capability. You will partner with FinOps, Engineering, Finance, Product, Architecture, and Data & Analytics teams to deliver trusted, enterprise-grade data products that enable faster decisions, greater financial transparency, and improved cloud investment outcomes.\n\nKey Responsibilities\n\nPlatform Architecture & Technical Leadership\n\nDefine and lead the architecture for UKG's Unified FinOps Platform across AWS and GCP environments.\n\nEstablish enterprise data models, governance standards, and engineering best practices for cloud financial management.\n\nDesign scalable, resilient, and secure data solutions supporting forecasting, reporting, optimization, and AI-driven insights.\n\nServe as the technical authority for FinOps data architecture and platform strategy.\n\nData Platform & Product Development\n\nLead the design and implementation of cloud-native data products integrating:\n\nCloud billing and usage data\n\nCost allocation and chargeback/showback frameworks\n\nInfrastructure and application telemetry\n\nCommitment and discount utilization\n\nFinancial and operational business metrics\n\nDevelop scalable data pipelines and services that provide a trusted source of truth for cloud cost and consumption.\n\nDrive platform modernization through automation, observability, and self-service capabilities.\n\nForecasting & Decision Intelligence\n\nArchitect forecasting and planning capabilities that leverage cloud consumption, business demand signals, and operational metrics.\n\nEnable rolling forecasts, budget planning, scenario modeling, and capacity planning across cloud environments.\n\nPartner with FinOps and Finance teams to improve forecast accuracy and financial predictability.\n\nBuild foundational capabilities supporting cloud unit economics and cost-to-serve analysis.\n\nAI & Automation Enablement\n\nEstablish the data foundation powering AskFinOps and future AI-driven FinOps capabilities.\n\nEnable automated anomaly detection, optimization recommendations, and decision-support workflows.\n\nDrive the adoption of advanced analytics and intelligent automation across the FinOps ecosystem.\n\nIdentify opportunities to reduce manual analysis and reporting through data engineering and AI solutions.\n\nData Governance & Enterprise Reporting\n\nEstablish enterprise standards for data quality, lineage, observability, and governance.\n\nDeliver trusted, SOX-compliant datasets supporting Finance, Accounting, Engineering, and Executive stakeholders.\n\nEnable consistent metrics, KPIs, and reporting across cloud financial management functions.\n\nEnsure scalability, security, and compliance of all platform capabilities.\n\nCross-Functional Leadership\n\nPartner with FinOps leadership, Finance, Engineering, Product, Architecture, and Data organizations to align platform investments with business objectives.\n\nMentor and guide Data Engineers and Analysts while promoting engineering excellence and innovation.\n\nInfluence cloud financial management strategy and roadmap through technology leadership.\n\nDrive adoption of platform capabilities and foster a data-driven culture across the organization.\n\nExperience Required Skills & Experience:\n\n10+ years of experience in Data Engineering, Data Platform Architecture, or Analytics Engineering.\n\n5+ years leading enterprise-scale cloud-native data platforms.\n\nProven experience designing and implementing large-scale data architectures and platforms.\n\nExperience building data products that support financial, operational, or business-critical decision-making.\n\nTechnical Skills\n\nExpert-level SQL and Python development skills.\n\nDeep expertise in cloud-native data ecosystems across AWS and/or GCP.\n\nExperience with modern data platforms such as BigQuery, Snowflake, Databricks, Redshift, or equivalent technologies.\n\nExpertise in ETL/ELT architecture, data orchestration, and data observability frameworks.\n\nStrong understanding of API integration, streaming architectures, and distributed data systems.\n\nExperience implementing data governance, lineage, and quality frameworks.\n\nLeadership Competencies\n\nEnterprise architecture and technical strategy.\n\nData platform design and modernization.\n\nExecutive stakeholder management and communication.\n\nCross-functional leadership and influence.\n\nStrategic problem-solving and systems thinking.\n\nPreferred Qualifications\n\nExperience with FinOps, cloud financial management, or cloud cost optimization programs.\n\nFinOps Certified Practitioner or FinOps Professional certification.\n\nExperience supporting AI, machine learning, or intelligent automation initiatives.\n\nExperience with forecasting, planning, financial analytics, or unit economics solutions.\n\nAWS and/or GCP Professional-level certifications.\n\nBachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Analytics, Information Systems, or related discipline;
