As a Software Engineer II, you will be responsible for the design, development, testing, deployment, and maintenance of complex software systems, as well as mentoring junior engineers. You will work in a collaborative environment, contributing to the technical foundation behind our flagship products and services. We are seeking engineers with diverse specialties and skills to join our dynamic team to innovate and solve complex challenges. Our team is looking for strong talent with expertise in the following areas:\n\nResponsibilities: \n\nDesign, develop, and maintain applications using .NET / C#, applying sound design patterns and principles (SOLID, OOP, etc.)\nBuild and consume Web APIs (RESTful services)\nWrite and optimize SQL Server queries, stored procedures, and database objects\nDevelop and maintain unit and automated test suites using frameworks like Moq\nDeploy, configure, and troubleshoot applications hosted on IIS\nDevelop client-side functionality using JavaScript/jQuery\nLeverage AI tools such as Claude and ChatGPT to accelerate development, debugging, and documentation, applying sound prompt engineering practices\nPerform API testing using tools such as Postman/SoapUI (or your preferred tool)\nBuild and maintain CI/CD pipelines for automated build, test, and deployment\nUse version control tools like GitHub for source management, branching, and code reviews\nWork within Agile/Scrum teams, participating in sprint ceremonies (standups, planning, retros)\nCollaborate with cross-functional teams to identify, troubleshoot, and resolve production issues\n\nMinimum Qualifications: \n\nBachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience. \n\n2+ years of professional software development experience. \n\nDeep expertise in .Net/C# programming language and extensive experience with\n\nDesign patterns and principles (SOLID, OOP, common architectural patterns)\nSQL Server (queries, stored procedures, performance basics)\nWeb API development\nUnit testing frameworks (e.g., Moq) and automation testing\nIIS deployment and configuration\nJavaScript / jQuery\nCI/CD pipelines (e.g., Azure DevOps, Jenkins, GitHub Actions)\nHands-on experience implementing or integrating OAuth 2.0–based authentication and authorization in .NET applications.\nVersion control tools like GitHub (Git workflows, branching strategies, pull requests/code reviews)\nHands-on experience with Claude, ChatGPT, or similar LLM tools, including prompt engineering\nAPI testing tools (e.g., Postman, SoapUI)\nStrong problem-solving and solution-oriented mindset\nSelf-driven and self-motivated, able to work with minimal supervision\nGood communication and interpersonal skills\nComfortable collaborating in cross-functional and Agile teams\n\nGood To Have\n\nExposure to observability/monitoring tools like Splunk, Grafana\nAngular (or other modern JS frameworks)\nPrior experience with Kafka or other messaging/streaming systems\nExposure to GCP or other cloud platforms\n\nCompany Overview\n\nUKG is the Workforce Operating Platform that puts workforce understanding to work.
