We are seeking on-site in Basingstoke motivated Work Students or Engineering Interns to join our SAR Laboratory team in Basingstoke and support an exciting customer project starting in November 2026.\nThis is a fantastic opportunity to apply your engineering knowledge in a practical setting, work alongside experienced engineers and laboratory technicians, and gain valuable exposure to testing, data analysis, and customer-facing technical activities.\nThe position is initially offered for 3 months, with the possibility of extension depending on project requirements and performance.\n As part of our SAR Laboratory team, you will support testing activities by setting up laboratory equipment, conducting tests, collecting and analysing data, and helping evaluate products against industry standards. You'll have the opportunity to work with advanced testing equipment and contribute directly to customer projects.\nAssist with the setup, execution, and monitoring of laboratory tests.\nBuild and adapt test setups and equipment to support project requirements.\nOperate laboratory equipment and measurement instruments under supervision.\nRecord, analyse, and document test results accurately.\nPrepare charts, graphs, and technical reports summarizing findings.\nRead and interpret technical documentation, schematics, wiring diagrams, and test procedures.\nExamine customer samples and support product evaluations.\nCommunicate with customers during test setup and operation to ensure successful test execution.\nMaintain laboratory equipment and work areas in accordance with quality and safety standards.\nCollaborate with engineers and laboratory staff to support ongoing projects.\nContribute to continuous improvement initiatives across laboratory operations\nFollow all safety, security, and compliance requirements, including the UL Code of Conduct.\nSupport additional laboratory activities as required.\nEngineering degree student looking for summer holiday, placement year work or first role following completing their degree.\nEffective communication skills and ability to interact with others\nDesire to work in a team-oriented environment\nAbility to use Microsoft Office suite is a must\nAbility for our laboratory shift 24/7, Monday through Sunday, therefore flexibility to work in shifts is required.
