Initiates communication with clients to promote and explain the benefits of new and existing services.\nAbility to manage projects within business expectations/metrics\nCommunicates with clients to discuss technical issues, explain UL procedures and requirements, convey project cost, and negotiate completion date and sample requirements.\nActs to address client concerns and to resolve complex client issues.\nProvides technical assistance to clients in reference to product inspection and follow-up services.\nEstablishes appropriate test programs by reviewing files and manufacturer's information, examining samples, and applying UL requirements.\nDetermines areas in which the product is not in compliance with UL requirements or of any changes in project scope or specifications and notifies client.\nCoordinates complex laboratory activities by preparing data sheets and instructions to technicians and by establishing completion dates.\nServes as Project Handler of record and signs as Reviewer of record as assigned based on qualification.\nCommunicates project status and results to clients through frequent contact and by preparing reports.\nPrepares Follow-Up Service Procedures and information pages.\nIntegrates continuous improvement concepts and techniques into all aspects of the job.\nResolves complex engineering issues associated with UL's Surveillance Program by analyzing and reporting on the acceptability of the variations.\nDevelops UL requirements for testing products beyond the scope of existing standards, or those involving unique features requiring frequent use of independent judgment.\nDevelops special test methods and test equipment.\nMay represent UL on technical committees and/or industry-related functions such as seminars and trade shows.\nTrains office, field, and/or laboratory staff and entry level engineers as appropriate.\nProvides technical assistance in several product categories, operations or systems to laboratory and/or field staff.\nRead and follow the Underwriters Laboratories Code of Conduct and follow all physical and digital security practices.\nPerforms other duties as directed.\n Bachelor's degree in Engineering required. Mechanical, Chemical, or Materials Engineering preferred.\n5+ years of experience in the Testing , Inspection, and Certification (TIC) industry or materials manufacturing/testing highly preferred.\nStrong project management skills.\nCommunication skills and the ability to interact with internal and external teams.\nAbility to stay organized when handling multiple priorities.\nProficiency in Microsoft Office.\nWhat we offer:\nTotal Rewards: We understand compensation is an important factor as you consider the next step in your career. The estimated salary range for this position is $178,000-105,000 and is based on multiple factors, including job-related knowledge/skills, experience, geographical location, as well as other factors. This position is eligible for annual bonus compensation with a target payout of 10% of the base salary. This position also provides health benefits such as medical, dental and vision; wellness benefits such as mental and financial health; and retirement savings (401K) commensurate with the standard rewards offered in each individual location or country.
