The role leads a team of accounting professionals and is responsible for the accounting, financial reporting, and compliance activities of multiple legal entities while maintaining a strong internal control environment.\nKey responsibilities include overseeing the preparation of statutory financial statements, coordinating statutory audits, submitting statutory filings and delivering accurate and timely financial reporting throughout the monthly, quarterly, and annual close cycles.\nThe Accounting Manager promotes a culture of continuous improvement and operational excellence by strengthening processes, controls, and ways of working. The position is hybrid based in Arnhem, the Netherlands, and reports to the Head of Accounting for the region.\nOversee statutory and US GAAP general ledger accounting.\nEnsure accurate and timely financial reporting for month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close.\nReview balance sheet and income statement analyses and account reconciliations.\nEnsure compliance with internal accounting controls, SOX requirements, and company policies and procedures.\nRespond promptly to information requests from the Corporate Accounting department.\nSupport US GAAP internal and external audits and ensure the timely implementation of audit recommendations.\nOversee the statutory financial statements preparation for several entities in multiple countries in accordance with local requirements.\nCoordinate and oversee statutory audits as applicable.\nCoordinate statutory filings such as VAT returns, ensuring accuracy and timely submission.\nDrive a culture of continuous improvement by standardizing and automating manual processes and controls to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.\nLead, develop, coach, mentor, and motivate the accounting team, including conducting team members’ performance reviews.\nSupport regional acquisition and merger activities as required.\nAssist with ad hoc requests and special projects as assigned.\n Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Economics, or a related field.\nProfessional accounting qualification, such as Chartered Accountant or equivalent.\nEXPERIENCE:\nAt least 8 years of progressive accounting experience, including experience leading an accounting team.\nStrong knowledge of and experience in preparing statutory financial statements.\nDemonstrated experience in leading process changes and systems improvements.\nExperience working for a U.S. based multinational company, with strong knowledge of US GAAP, financial reporting, and internal controls.\nExperience working with large, complex global ERP systems; Oracle experience is preferred.\nKEY COMPETENCIES:\nProven leadership skills, with the ability to develop, motivate, engage, and manage an accounting team effectively.\nExcellent written and verbal communication skills in English and preferably Dutch.\nStrong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.\nStrong time management, organizational, and prioritization skills, with a collaborative approach to teamwork.\nResults oriented and proactive, with a strong sense of urgency and the flexibility to meet demanding deadlines.\nAbility to lead effectively through change and approach new challenges with confidence.\nTotal Rewards: We understand that rewards are an important consideration as you plan the next step in your career.
