The role partners with business stakeholders to maintain accurate and reliable datasets, support data governance processes, and develop reports, dashboards, and analytical tools that enable sustainability performance measurement and decision-making. Leveraging data analytics, business intelligence and data science techniques, the role analyzes reporting trends, identifies insights and supports forecasting activities that drive measurable business value.\nThis is a full-time, hybrid (3 days in office) position located at our Northbrook, IL office.\n Data Input, Quality and Governance\nPerform data entry, uploads, validation, and maintenance activities within the enterprise sustainability data and reporting software(s).\nMonitor data quality and investigate missing values, anomalies, inconsistencies, and reporting issues.\nSupport data governance standards, data definitions, process documentation, and audit-readiness activities.\nCollaborate with data owners and business partners to improve data accuracy, completeness, timeliness, and reliability.\nReporting and Visualization\nSupport design, development, and maintenance of Power BI dashboards, reports, semantic models, and interactive analytics solutions.\nUse Power Query and DAX to transform data, create measures, and support scalable reporting.\nDevelop automated reporting solutions that improve efficiency and reduce manual effort.\nDevelop analytical tools, calculators, models, and self-service capabilities that help users identify and act on insights.\nIdentify opportunities to automate data preparation, recurring reporting, and quality checks.\nAnalytics & Business Insights\nAnalyze sustainability datasets, including carbon emissions, energy consumption, water usage, waste generation, and other key business metrics.\nIdentify patterns, trends, anomalies, risks, and opportunities through quantitative and qualitative analysis.\nTranslate complex analytical findings into clear, actionable recommendations for business stakeholders.\nSupport KPI development, performance measurement, benchmarking, and target-setting initiatives.\nSupport implementation of new metrics, KPIs, data collection methods, and analytical methodologies.\nForecasting & Predictive Analytics\nSupport development of forecasts, projections, and scenario analyses to support strategic planning and target-setting activities.\nAssist in the development and maintenance of statistical or predictive models that identify future trends, risks, and opportunities.\nRequired\nBachelor's degree in Data Science, Analytics, Statistics, Computer Science, Sustainability, or a related field.\n1-3 years of experience in data analytics, business intelligence, reporting, forecasting, data science or related disciplines.\nExperience developing or supporting Power BI dashboards and reports, including data modeling, Power Query, DAX, and visualization best practices.\nStrong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate data into actionable business insights.\nAdvanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and common data analysis techniques.\nExperience working with large or complex datasets and performing data validation and quality assurance.\nStrong communication skills, including the ability to present findings to diverse stakeholder groups.\nAbility to balance advanced analytical work with recurring data input, maintenance, and reporting responsibilities.\nPreferred\nExperience with SQL, Python, R, or similar analytical and data science tools.\nExperience developing forecasting models, scenario analyses, or predictive analytics solutions.\nExperience with enterprise sustainability and reporting platforms preferred (e.g., UL360, Watershed, Persefoni, Workiva)\nKnowledge of sustainability, ESG, environmental, health and safety, or operational datasets.\nFamiliarity with sustainability reporting frameworks such as GRI, CSRD, CDP, SASB, or the GHG Protocol.\nExperience with data governance, master data management, workflow automation, or cloud-based data platforms.\nTotal Rewards: We understand compensation is an important factor as you consider the next step in your career. The estimated salary range for this position is $58,800- $72,000 and is based on multiple factors, including job-related knowledge/skills, experience, geographical location, as well as other factors. This position is eligible for annual bonus compensation with a target payout of 5% of the base salary. This position also provides health benefits such as medical, dental and vision; wellness benefits such as mental and financial health; and retirement savings (401K) commensurate with the standard rewards offered in each individual location or country.
