In this role, you will work closely with clients, laboratories and internal stakeholders to evaluate products against applicable standards, manage project timelines and provide technical guidance throughout the certification process. Success in this position requires strong engineering expertise, project management skills and the ability to build trusted relationships with customers while delivering high-quality, compliant solutions.\n Determines project scope, develops a preliminary plan of investigation, and determines project specifications such as cost, time, and sample requirements by analyzing client input, available supplemental data, and product construction.\nProjects may include travel to conduct or witness tests at client sites. Initiates communication with clients to promote and explain the benefits of new and existing services.\nFollows up on contacts from clients.\nCommunicates with clients to discuss technical issues, explain UL procedures and requirements, convey project cost, and negotiate completion date and sample requirements.\nActs to address client concerns and to resolve client issues.\nProvides technical assistance to clients in reference to product inspection and follow-up services.\nEstablishes appropriate test programs by reviewing files and manufacturer's information, examining samples, and applying UL requirements.\nIs familiar with applicable standards, company manuals and appropriate technical literature.\nExamines samples for compliance with UL requirements and notifies client of any areas in which the product is not in compliance or of any changes in project scope or specifications.\nCoordinates laboratory activities by preparing data sheets and instructions to technicians, scheduling and reviewing work of laboratory technicians and engineering support staff and establishing completion dates.\nCoordinates administrative aspects of project management.\nServes as Project Handler of record and may sign as Reviewer of record as assigned.\nCommunicates project status and results to clients through frequent contact and by preparing reports.\nPrepares Follow-Up Service Procedures and information pages.\nIntegrates continuous improvement concepts and techniques into all aspects of the job.\nResolves engineering issues associated with Variation Notices by analyzing and reporting on the acceptability of the variations.\nAssists in the development of UL requirements.\nAssists in developing special test methods and test equipment.\nAnalyzes test program for adequacy and sequence.\nMay coordinate and/or perform File Reviews, as directed.\nMay represent UL at industry related functions such as seminars and trade shows.\nRead and follow the Underwriters Laboratories Code of Conduct and follow all physical and digital security practices.\nPerforms other duties as directed.\n University Degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, Industrial Technology, Manufacturing Technology or Physics from an accredited program plus two years directly related experience.\nDetailed knowledge of the technical vocabulary common to the appropriate discipline.\nBasic knowledge of laboratory testing apparatus and techniques common to the appropriate discipline.\nWhat we offer:\nWe understand that remuneration and benefits are important when deciding on your next career move. The annual salary range for this position is EUR 30.900 - 41.100 gross, determined by numerous factors, including knowledge, skills, and experience (Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA): Commerce Sector - Job Classification Level: Level 3). This position also offers an annual bonus of up to 5% of annual salary.
