We help to ensure that all certified products continue to comply with UL Solutions' requirements and partner with customers to help them meet their changing needs.\n Performs inspections and audits in accordance with the required Standards and ULS internal operating procedures, consisting of:\nDuring factory visits, review and selection of products, components and sub-assemblies that are eligible for ULS markings.\nVerification of components, materials, markings and ULS Labels for selected products.\nVerification of various production records and documentations.\nReview of previous inspection results and potential corrective actions.\nChecking calibration for test equipment and measurement tools.\nSelecting samples and witnessing factory tests (when required) and test records.\nCreating and submitting inspection and potential non-conformance reports.\nReview of various traceability and inspection programs.\nIndependently scheduling inspections and completing all other assigned tasks on time (home office arrangement).\nAssists and helps customers with their questions related to ULS services, explains and promotes the benefits of new and existing services, helps internal and external customers to resolve technical and administrative issues.\nBuilds close relationship with the ULS local office, Customer Service, Invoicing, Sales, Label Center, Customer Advocacy and Engineering departments.\nBuilds close customer relationship, provides a critical avenue to deepen UL’s partnerships, expands business knowledge, and offers customers extraordinary on-site value.\nDelivering the best-in-class customer satisfaction and expansion of services, while maintaining customer loyalty.\nWork with customer every step of the way throughout the lifecycle of customer product and support customer’s ongoing certification service needs.\nProviding customized assistance to customers such as navigate new product launches, process adjustments and growth opportunities.\nRead and follow the Underwriters Laboratories Code of Conduct and follow all physical and digital security practices.\nPerforms other duties as directed.\n ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS - TRAVEL (ESSENTIAL FUNCTION):\nAbility and willingness to travel extensively is a core and essential requirement of this role.\nTravel may include driving long distances, travel by commercial aircraft, public transportation (including trains and other mass transit systems), or other locally approved transportation methods, where legally permitted and authorized by company policy.\nField Engineers may be required to travel up to approximately 60,000 kilometers (37,000 miles) per year using one or more of the transportation modes listed above.\nWhere driving is required, the employee must hold and maintain a valid driver’s license and meet all legal, insurance, and medical requirements to safely operate a motor vehicle.\nWhere essential duties require air travel (e.g., inspections in remote locations, meetings, training, or company events), the employee must be able and willing to travel by commercial aircraft.\nInability to meet essential travel requirements may impact the employee’s ability to continue in the Field Engineer role. The company will consider reasonable accommodations or alternative roles, in accordance with applicable law, consultation requirements, and company policy. \nMust be compliant with any company driver program.\nHOME LOCATION REQUIREMENT:\n\nThe employee’s designated home address must be located within the assigned service territory.\nHome location is a material condition of employment and is established to optimize travel efficiency, response times, and customer service effectiveness.\nRelocation outside the approved territory (including moves of approximately 50 km / 31 miles or more) must be approved in advance by manager and HR in writing.\nUnauthorized relocation may result in reassignment, territory adjustment, or other employment actions in accordance with company policy.\nAll requirements described above represent essential job functions and will be applied in a manner consistent with applicable labor law, equal employment opportunity principles, and company accommodation policies.\nHIRE-IN\n\nBachelor’s degree or post-secondary vocational education diploma in a relevant Technical Discipline (such as Engineering Technology, Manufacturing Technology or Physics but not limited to these disciplines only) or equivalent experience.\nMinimum 3 years directly related experience\nGood written and verbal communication skills in both English and local language\nValid Driving license with good driving records where applicable.\nReadiness to extensive travel\nGood communication skills\nCommitment to Customer Focus\nGood IT skills\nMust be located or willing to relocate to the Brea, California area.\n Total Rewards: We understand compensation is an important factor as you consider the next step in your career . The estimated salary range for this position is $80,000 to $90,000 and is based on multiple factors, including job-related knowledge/skills, experience, geographical location, as well as other factors. This position is eligible for annual bonus compensation with a target payout of 5% of the base salary. This position also provides health benefits such as medical, dental and vision; wellness benefits such as mental and financial health; and retirement savings (401K) commensurate with the standard rewards offered in each individual location or country.
