Our science is your advantage.\nReporting to the Engineering Manager and under general supervision, as our Project Engineer you will work in an international team and you will autonomously manage the execution of projects within the Industrial Electronic Control segment to ensure that the certification projects are delivered on time and with the best quality and experience for our clients.\n Independently determines project scope, develops a preliminary plan of investigation, and determines project specifications such as cost, time, and sample requirements by analyzing client input, available supplemental data, and product construction.\nProjects may include frequent travel to conduct or witness tests at client sites.\nInitiates communication with clients to promote and explain the benefits of new and existing services.\nFollows up on contacts from clients.\nCommunicates with clients to discuss technical issues, explain UL procedures and requirements, convey project cost, and negotiate completion date and sample requirements.\nActs to address client concerns and to resolve client issues.\nProvides technical assistance to clients in reference to product inspection and follow-up services.\nEstablishes appropriate test programs by reviewing files and manufacturer's information, examining samples, and applying UL requirements.\nNotifies client of any areas in which the product is not in compliance with UL requirements or of any changes in project scope or specifications.\nCoordinates laboratory activities by preparing data sheets and instructions to technicians, scheduling and reviewing work of Laboratory Technicians and support staff and establishing completion dates.\nCoordinates administrative aspects of project management.\nServes as Project Handler of record and may sign as Reviewer of record as assigned.\nCommunicates project status and results to clients through frequent contact and by preparing reports.\nPrepares Follow-Up Service Procedures and information pages.\nIntegrates continuous improvement concepts and techniques into all aspects of the job.\nResolves engineering issues associated with Variation Notices by analyzing and reporting on the acceptability of the variations.\nProposes development of new and/or revised UL requirements.\nDevelops special test methods and test equipment.\nCoordinates and/or performs File Reviews.\nMay represent UL at industry related functions such as seminars and trade shows.\nMay provide direction as a Primary Designated Engineer or Designated Engineer for specific product categories.\nMay directs and review work of assigned staff.\nMay train office, field, and/or laboratory staff and entry-level engineers.\nProvides technical assistance to laboratory and/or field staff.\nRead and follow the Underwriters Laboratories Code of Conduct and follow all physical and digital security practices.\nPerforms other duties as directed.\n University Degree in Electronic Engineering, Engineering Technology, Industrial Technology, Manufacturing Technology, or Physics from an accredited program plus four years directly related work experience.\nDetailed knowledge of the technical vocabulary common to the appropriate discipline.\nWorking knowledge of conformity standards in use in area of expertise.\nDemonstrated ability to apply project-handling concepts in use in area of expertise.\nKnowledge of UL 61800-5-1, UL 61010-1, UL 61010-2-201 and UL 61010-2-030 standards is preferred. Experience with the CB Scheme and a solid understanding of international product certification requirements will be considered a strong advantage.\n\nWhat we offer:\nWe understand that remuneration and benefits are important when deciding on your next career move. The annual salary range for this position is EUR 38.100 - 50.800 gross, determined by numerous factors, including knowledge, skills, and experience (Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA): Commerce Sector - Job Classification Level: Level 2-1). This position also offers an annual bonus of up to 10% of annual salary.
