instrumentation, automated systems and test fixtures.\nMay assist PEs and/or Engineering to validate modified existing methods or develop and validate new test methods.\nAssists in developing annual budgetary goals, capital expenditure budget for laboratory equipment, and tactical plans for the assigned laboratory section.\nActs as lead for laboratory capital projects and assumes responsibility for all technical aspects, schedule, budget, vendor interaction and Facility Department support.\nProactively seeks automation opportunities to resolve complex testing issues.\nSchedules, Calibrate, and maintains laboratory instrumentation and apparatus.\nMay determine accuracy of instruments and the measurement uncertainty for equipment calibration.\nIssues calibration certificates based on internal procedures.\nAs necessary, adapts procedures, processes, tools, equipment and techniques to meet more complex requirements.\nDefines the engineering units, ranges, and/or acceptance criteria of instruments to be externally calibrated based on manufacturers equipment specifications, standard requirements and/or accreditations.\nChecks, verifies and accepts calibration certificates from external calibration service provider(s).\nDevelops internal procedures for laboratory equipment calibration and maintenance.\nWorks with global colleagues to drive technical and operational consistency and to maintain efficiency and scalability in global laboratory instrumentation, automated systems, test fixtures and/or laboratory infrastructure within a local scope.\nOperates a computer to extract/input readily available information and to use available software.\nIntegrates continuous improvement concepts and techniques into all aspects of the job.\nRead and follow the UL Standards of Business Conduct and follow all physical and digital security practices.\nPerforms other duties as directed.\n Bachelors' degree or diploma from an accredited university through a formal program of study in Engineering or relevant Engineering Discipline (such as Engineering Technology, Manufacturing Technology or Physics but not limited to these disciplines only).\nGenerally, 6 years directly related experience in the calibration and/or development and support of laboratory instrumentation, automation tools and processes.\nMakes difficult tactical decisions even when all the questions from individuals or small groups of internal or external clients.\nWhat we offer:\nTotal Rewards: We understand compensation is an important factor as you consider the next step in your career. The estimated salary range for this position is $91,900 to $122,500 and is based on multiple factors, including job-related knowledge/skills, experience, geographical location, as well as other factors. This position is eligible for annual bonus compensation with a target payout of 5% of the base salary. This position also provides health benefits such as medical, dental and vision; wellness benefits such as mental and financial health; and retirement savings (401K) commensurate with the standard rewards offered in each individual location or country.
