Our team is excited to meet you!\n Job Overview & Responsibilities\nAs a Mechanical Engineer 2 at ULA's production facility in Decatur, AL, key responsibilities include:\nDesigning and implementing manufacturing processes, procedures, and planning for multiple build items in support of other assembly areas in the factory.\nDesigning sequence of operations and specific procedures for hardware in work center. \nInspecting performance of machinery, equipment, and tools to verify their efficiency.\nInvestigates and initiates corrective action or problems and deficiencies to ensure product quality. \nProviding guidance to engineering regarding design concepts and specification requirements to best utilize equipment and manufacturing techniques. \nEnsuring processes and procedures are in compliance with regulations.\nCollaborating with design engineers to ensure all products meet design requirements and can be manufactured efficiently.\nWorking with quality engineering and production operations to initiate corrective action of problems and deficiencies to ensure product quality.\nTroubleshooting to resolve manufacturing issues and keep production on schedule.\nWork closely with technicians during the build process and supports process improvements.\nIdentifying and driving continuous improvement opportunities to completion.\nWorking collaboratively with multiple functions within the organization to perform job duties. \nImplementing Manufacturing Bill of Materials (MBOM).\nRequired Education\nBachelor\nRequired Years of Experience\nMinimum of 2 years of related work experience\nBasic Qualifications\nBachelor’s degree in engineering or related technical field from an accredited college or university.\nPrevious exposure to reading blueprints.\nUnderstanding of geometrical, dimensioning, and tolerancing.\nAttention to detail and good documentation of observations/findings.\nAbility to work extended hours and/or weekends along with off shifts, as necessary to support testing and production delivery activities.\n Preferred Qualifications\nExperience with aerospace hardware, working with cross-functional work groups, and presenting to external customers.\nExposure to manufacturing techniques and working with an hourly workforce.\nExperience with ERP systems (Enterprise Resource Planning), preferably SAP.\n What makes ULA different?\nBecause we understand launch success comes through the collective efforts of a team, we seek the best to join us.
