They will adapt and modify standard techniques to solve multifaceted problems and provide expert consultation for the design, development and implementation of technical plans and systems used in the construction of infastructure projects.\nWhat You'll Do\nAssisting in the preparation of structural designs and drawings for solar foundations and support structures.\nConducts project specification research to determine applicable building codes and ensuring specific project requirements are addressed in the design.\nPrepares calculations and drawings according to project specifications and applying department and relevant standards.\nCoordinates with internal multi-disciplinary teams to address structural-related issues or concerns.\nProvides drafting support using AutoCAD for structural design plans.\nAssists with deep foundation design, inspection, pile design, foundation design, and construction quality control.\nApplies geotechnical and corrosion recommendations in designs.\nParticipates in project meetings and collaborating with team members to ensure effective communication and project progress.\nSupports the Project Discipline Lead in meeting essential deadlines and fostering effective collaboration among project team members and various design disciplines.\nReports directly to the Engineering Supervisor with project accountability to Discipline Leads and Project Managers, providing regular updates on project status.\nWhat We Expect from You\nB.S. in Civil or Structural Engineering from an ABET accredited program or equivalent, is required.\nCivil Engineer-In-Training (FE) registration required.\nMinimum of 2-4+ years of engineering experience performing structural design is required. Specific experience performing structural foundation design on utility scale solar projects in a fast-paced consulting environment is preferred. Knowledge of renewable energy systems is preferred.\nKnowledge of codes including ASCE 7, ACI 318, AISC 360/341, IBC and more.\nKnowledge of software tools including but not limited to L-PILE, RISA 3D/2D, RISA Foundation, AutoCAD Civil 3D, Global Mapper, Bluebeam and more.\nKnowledge of PV systems design or transmission line structural design is a plus.\nStrong communication skills, both written and verbal.\nEfficient time management - handle multiple projects simultaneously and with minimal supervision including prioritizing, organizing, and planning effectively to meet all deadlines.\nMajority of the work will be in the office, with some general travel for design construction support, visiting clients, and representing Ulteig at conferences and trade shows as required.
