The selected candidate will engage with Ulteig’s civil, structural, and electrical design teams and our clients to provide innovative, forward thinking design solutions to facilitate the development, design, and construction of solar projects.\nWhat You'll Do\nLead and manage civil engineering design projects, ensuring effective communication and coordination with clients and internal design teams.\nProvide guidance and mentorship to engineers, fostering a collaborative and innovative work environment. Review designs for high quality, support engineers through challenging problem solving, and drive standards across the department.\nLead and manage the execution of team and department initiatives to support the continuous improvement of our tools and processes\nApply current, standard engineering techniques, procedures, and criteria to complete engineering tasks, supporting other civil, structural, and electrical design workflows as necessary.\nDevelop comprehensive plans, specifications, and observation reports that are accurate and in accordance with sound utility-scale solar engineering practices.\nRecommend alterations to development criteria and design features to improve quality and project outcomes.\nPlan and accomplish project goals by leveraging experience and judgment.\nReview and check design computations performed by the internal civil design team to ensure accuracy and compliance.\nPrepare detailed reports and correspondence concerning the direction and progress of assigned projects.\nReview plans and specifications for constructability, safety, and risk management considerations.\nMaintain a value engineering mindset throughout the development, design, and construction phases.\nCollaborate closely with business and engineering staff across multiple markets and technical disciplines.\nWork closely with clients to understand their technical needs and identify the best feasible solutions.\nSupport marketing, sales, and business development activities within the assigned market.\nDemonstrate a high degree of creativity, out-of-the-box thinking, and design ownership.\nWhat We Expect from You\nB.S. in Civil Engineering from an ABET accredited program or equivalent is required.\nCivil Professional Engineer (PE) registration required, NCEES Council Record is preferred.\nMinimum of 8-10+ years of civil engineering experience is required, with at least 5+ years of experience in design and development of utility scale solar, preferred.\nProficient at large scale solar grading design and earthwork calculations is required.\nExperience performing detailed design of solar facilities with complex topographic, environmental, and non-participating infrastructure constraints is highly desired.\nStormwater management and permitting experience is highly desired.\nExperience developing Spill Prevention Control and Countermeasures Plans (SPCC) and Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plans (SWPPP) preferred.\nDemonstrated proficiency and working knowledge of AutoCAD and Civil 3D is preferred.\nProven experience in Microsoft Software Applications (Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook).\nMust have permanent authorization to work in US.\nAs you consider applying for a position at Ulteig, we encourage you to think outside the box - because we do!
