The Lead Electrical Engineer acts as a technical leader and applies standard engineering techniques and procedures on complex projects. Plans, schedules, conducts, and/or coordinates detailed phases of assigned project work.\n**Please note that resumes must be submitted in English for the application to be considered**\nWhat You’ll Do\nMakes design recommendations, adaptations, and modifications for utility substations, relay automation equipment, and drawings associated. \nPerforms calculations using engineering formulas and skills. \nProvide technical guidance to other engineers \nAdditional duties may include tasks beyond what is listed, such as special projects, assisting colleagues, or new initiatives. A willingness to adapt to changing priorities and support team efforts enhances collaboration and growth opportunities. \nWhat We Expect from You\nBachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering required. Master’s degree is a plus. ABET-accredited program or equivalent required (CFIA). \nCFIA professional licensure. \n7+ years of engineering experience required. \nEffective leadership and mentoring skills. \nExcellent verbal and written communication, time management, interpersonal, and organizational skills. Capable of leading complex substation projects with a multidiscipline team from full scope estimating and proposals, through detailed design, to commission and construction support for energization. \nProficient with substation protection and control design and industry standards. \nCapable of reviewing and producing design drawings, including one-line diagrams, AC/DC schematics, wiring diagrams, and control panel elevations. \nAbility to perform AC & DC substation studies. \nKnowledge of substation electrical physical (apparatus) equipment. \nKnowledge of basic relay settings is a plus. \nOn-site commissioning and/or construction support is a plus. \nKnowledge of National Electrical Safety Code (NESC), Rural Utilities Service (RUS) design guide, Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE), International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC), and National Electrical Code (NEC) a plus. \nProven experience in Microsoft Software Applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint). \nMust have authorization to work legally in Costa Rica for any employer. \nAs you consider applying for a position, we encourage you to think outside the box - because we do!
