This position will lead a variety of system design and development efforts across a series of new programs within our organization. The Systems Engineer will tackle complex technical challenges and provide expert-level analysis and judgment in support of critical defense programs.Responsibilities:\nPerforms a variety of design and development of integrated avionics and communications systems.\nProvides expert judgment and analysis for the design, development and implementation of technical products and systems.\nResolves highly complex technical issues and conducts advanced research.\nMust be able to defend work and design approach following a variety of the Systems Engineering concepts, practices, and procedures.\nRecommends alterations to development and design to improve quality of products and/or procedures.\nRelies on applicable experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.\nWorks to place planning and reflection cadences into use across multiple project teams with the goal of synchronizing team members and activities.\nStrives to increase the efficiency of development practices by guiding the flow, architecture, design quality, code quality, system quality, and release quality of deliverables.\nFamiliar with a variety of the Systems Engineering concepts, practices, and procedures.\nMentor junior engineering candidates in Systems Engineering best practices. \nWrites documentation / deliverables for govt contract requirements\nSimulates end-user operations and executes test procedures.\nSupports the generation of testable requirements and designs test bed architecture.\nWrites detailed test cases and articulates results in chosen software development lifecycle management tool (e.g., Digital.ai Agility, JIRA etc.)\nRequired Skills:\nBachelor of Science in Computer Science, Information Systems, or an Engineering-related field.\nActive Secret U.S. Government Security Clearance required (U.S. Citizenship is mandatory).\nUnderstanding of full product life cycle, to include: system design, development, integration, testing, delivery, support, and retirement\n8+ years of experience in Systems Engineering or a related field, including proven experience with Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) tools and methodologies.\nExperience with simulation tools and techniques for system design, analysis, and validation.\nDesired Skills:\nPrior experience with Army Command and Control (C2) systems such as IBCS, FAAD, THAAD etc.\n3+ years of experience with tactical data links including Link 16\n3+ years of experience with DoD radio communications systems\n3+ years of experience with IP network design and maintenance\nSafe Engineering experience\nStrong written and verbal communication skills\nHold the following certifications: CompTIA A+, CompTIA Network+, CompTIA Security+, CompTIA Linux+, CompTIA Project+, CompTIA AeroIT.\nHolds or willing to work towards Systems Engineering Professional Certification (e.g. INCOSE ASEP as a minimum)\n#IC\n#LI-hybrid\nNotice\nDue to the nature of the programs we deliver for our customers, candidates may need to obtain the relevant security clearance or handle export-controlled material as defined by the role's requirements.\nOur Benefits\nEvery employee is critical to our success, and as such, we offer a range of flexible employee benefits, including:\nAnnual Bonus - Annual Bonus - Performance Related\n\nCompetitive Paid Time Off (PTO) package plus 11 company holidays\n\nEarly finish on Friday\n\n401K w/ company match\n\nMedical/Dental/Vision Benefits\n\nStudent Loan Assistance Program\n\nArray of voluntary benefit offerings\n\nUltra I&C is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
