Contributes to moderately complex aspects of a project.\nNationality Requirements\nCandidates must be eligible to obtain the relevant security clearance required for the role, due to the nature of the programmes we deliver for our customers.\nJob Description\nThe Senior Electrical Engineer will work as part of a multi-disciplinary project team developing new and innovative electronics solutions to meet customer needs. The Senior Electrical Engineer will work in a number of specialist areas including low noise preamps, high speed digital telemetry, Digital Signal Processing, and RF design.\nDesign, implement, maintain configuration management and test maintainable hardware and firmware systems in accordance with the company’s procedure and project specific requirements\nPreparing or reviewing typical design documentation (design requirements, schematics, board layouts, technical specifications, and data sheets)\nPreparing or review engineering deliverables for existing and new electrical system design modifications/upgrades/replacements\nPreparing cost estimates or cooperating appropriately with others responsible for reporting the estimate.\nApply independent diversified knowledge of engineering principles and practices\nAct as a technical interface with customers\nProvide coaching and guidance to and check work of junior engineers, technologists or technicians\nParticipate in and chair technical reviews\nOther tasks as assigned\nRequired Skills:\nBachelor's Degree in Electrical or Electronic Engineering with 4+ years of experience\nAbility to work on Canadian Controlled Goods and US ITAR controlled articles\nCandidate must be capable of acquiring a NATO Reliability and Secret security clearance\nDesired Skills:\nMaster's Degree an asset, especially Electrical, Electronic or Underwater Acoustics Engineering\nElectrical/Electronic Engineering (>4 years) commercial or military type electronics desirable\nElectrical/Electronic Engineering Lead/Project lead (>1 years)\nExperience of Maritime Domain (desirable)\nExperience of Underwater Warfare Domain (desirable)\nAnalog and digital design\nEmbedded microcontroller design (ARM-based microcontrollers or DSP-based systems)\nExperience with peripherals such as SPI, I2C, UART, etc.\nExperience with DSP applications\nOrCAD Capture, OrCAD PSpice Designer and PCB Designer\nCompetent Assembly and C language programming for embedded systems\nFPGA design using VHDL\nNetwork communication - Fiber Optic Ethernet ATM SONET\nExperience with embedded development tools such as Sourcery CodeBench and Atollic TrueSTUDIO\nA team-oriented individual that works collaboratively to achieve team goals\nStrong communication skills and a positive attitude, with capability to mentor others\nMust be self-motivated, adaptable, and attentive to details\nWilling to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a deadline-oriented environment\nFamiliar with formal project design process and documentation\nWillingness to travel within Canada, US and Overseas\nTypically, a Bachelor Degree (or equivalent) in a related field and 4+ years of experience within a relevant complex engineering environment.May be required to maintain security clearance\nDiverse & Inclusive Employer\nUltra Maritime is an equal opportunities employer that values diversity, inclusion, equity and equality.
