At Ultra Maritime, you’ll work at the intersection of mission requirements and engineering execution, helping turn customer needs into systems that perform in the real world.\nYou’ll work alongside RF, Electrical, Mechanical, Software, and other engineering disciplines throughout the system lifecycle-from requirements and architecture through integration, verification, and test. Your technical judgment will help shape system design, evaluate trade-offs, and deliver capabilities that support the warfighter.\nJob Description\nWhat You’ll Do\nSupport the development of advanced radar and mission systems for Navy applications.\nTranslate customer and mission needs into system requirements, designs, and technical solutions; develop, derive, validate, and analyze requirements throughout the system lifecycle.\nCollaborate across engineering disciplines from concept and requirements through system design, integration, verification, and test.\nEvaluate technical approaches and system-level trade-offs with the Project Engineer, balancing performance, risk, cost, schedule, and technical feasibility.\nAnalyze system performance and engineering data to evaluate system behavior and inform technical decisions.\nSupport integration, verification, and test of complex hardware and software systems, including test planning and procedure development.\nWork with advanced digital signal processing hardware and software algorithms to support radar system performance.\nContribute to the evaluation and development of technologies and architectures supporting future Navy capabilities.\nSupport proposals, IR&D, and other strategic technology development activities.\nWhat You Bring\nExpertise in at least one, and understanding of all, of the following systems engineering disciplines:Concepts of operations\nRequirement development and derivation\nRequirement validation\nSystem design\nData or performance analysis\nIntegration & testing\nTest Plan and Procedure Development\n\nExperience with Sonar systems or similar signal processing systems\nBasic Python or Matlab function scripting skills\nComfort in hands on operations and scripting in the Linux / UNIX OS environment\n\nIt's a Plus If You Have:Creating models or simulations utilizing Python or Matlab\nExperience planning, reviewing, and executing integration and test events for combined hardware and software systems\nExperience working with a multi-disciplinary team to jointly develop a system during multiple phases of the development lifecycle\nExperience and knowledge of algorithms used for detection, tracking, navigation, discrimination or other parts of traditional Radar or Sonar signal processing\nExperience or understanding of torpedo and/or UUV guidance and control systems\nAutomated testing, unit testing, or experience with debugging and analyzing software design in C++ while utilizing Python or Matlab for data evaluation\nKnowledge of Navy platforms or common Navy platform interfaces\nHands-on familiarity with Model Based System Engineering tools or techniques not required but beneficial\n\nQualifications:\n12+ years of relevant systems engineering experience\nBS Degree in Systems, Electrical, Computer Engineering, or related discipline from an accredited college or equivalent years of experience\nEligible to obtain a Secret level US Government Security Clearance. Security Clearances are granted to only US Citizens.\nWillingness to travel (10-25%, individually tailorable)\n\nExpected Compensation: The expected compensation range for this role is\n$162,656.00 - $203,216.00.\n\nPlease note this represents the expected range.
