We welcome the challenge to work in new ways and have trust in you when getting the job done because we recognise, our business is our people.\nJob Description\nEaton MSD Cheltenham are looking for an Associate Technician to join the manufacturing function which is responsible for the manufacture, integration and test of a wide range of products and systems providing innovative capabilities for our customers.The Production Test function will test, fault find and identify the repair to be undertaken on a range of products to meet our customer commitments in terms of quality and timescales. It ensures that the units under test have passed all the parameters as laid down in the Product Test Schedule before releasing.\nThe role holder will be either:\na) An entry level professional with stable experience but with applicable education, learning skills to perform routine tasks as prescribed and with little autonomy. Works under clearly defined procedures and with little supervision. Expected to raise raise issues in a timely manner and also have a idea's for closures\nb) A technical or skilled individual providing support to others and contributing through application of technical expertise and knowledge gained through experience in clearly defined operations environments and formalised job-related training.\nKey responsibilities:\nTo assemble new build products and carry out repair of customer products in accordance with the drawings and manufacturing instructions.\nTo undertake fault diagnosis of units that fail the ATP and provide a comprehensive strip report for customer returns.\nCarry out final ATP of customers units as required.\nIdentify problems/issues and recommend solutions to prevent recurrence.\nAct as the cell link into quality, engineering & other areas of the business as needed.\nReview job progress on an annual basis with the objective of achieving continuous improvement. You will need to adhere and contribute to the advancement of the Company Mission. \nMaintain awareness and attend training courses as applicable for the purpose of the Company and self-development.\nAlways adhere to Company Procedure.\nTo carry out any other duties as may be reasonably requested.\nQualifications/Understanding:\nFull understanding of the expectations and requirements of your primary customer.\nTo work with fellow team members in a respectful and courteous manner.\nEvidence of an eye test within the last 2 years and appropriate actions taken where required.\nA minimum of 6 months broad based cell experience (an understanding of the range and complexity of the products that the cell produces).\nA full understanding of the responsibility that comes from being an Eaton MSD Cheltenham certified inspection stamp holder.\nIPC certified.\nThorough knowledge of continuous improvement methods, in particular ‘lean’ and use this understanding to question and where necessary challenge constructively any operation or instruction believed not to be the most effective option for the Company or its customers.\n3 years’ experience within an aerospace / defence environment and/or a formal engineering qualification (NVQ/C&G/ONC etc.)\nBenefits:\nEvery employee is critical to our success and as such we offer a range of flexible employee benefits along with career development opportunities.\nFlexible working within core working hours \n25 days holiday (185hrs) with the option to buy/sell 5 days (37hrs) plus bank holidays\n4 times annual salary in life assurance\nFlexible benefits package\nFunded health benefits\nPension Scheme - up to 8% employer contributions\nSupportive and friendly working environment with regular team events\nYou couldn't be joining the team and Eaton MSD Cheltenham at a more exciting time.
