Support the design intent, delivering design solutions to meet project schedule & budget requirements.\nApply and scrutinise requirements of a project with no supervision. \nBe able to technically interface with operations and supply chain ensuring the design intent is met and requirements achieved, applying developing DFM / DFT practices throughout.\nAssistin preparing and reviewing engineering estimates & bids, including identifying risks and dependencies within and across functions.\nEffective communication skills. Capable of presenting ideas and proposals to peers and line managers, including presenting at external design reviews (with some support).\nAbility to liaise with support functions (Commercial, Finance, Supply chain etc)\nAwareness ofPLM tools.\nCompetent at Configuration and Change management and security marking aspects of all types of documentation and drawings.\nFully understands the security aspects of what we do, commercial export licences and their need and ITAR requirements.\nCapable of Assisting in failure investigations and recommendingappropriate solutions, reporting findings to management and customers.\nSupport the resolution of technical challenges, supporting other engineers in the relevant domain.\nCapable of leading small technical work packages within a project guiding other engineers as required to help meet schedule,budgetand quality.\nCompetent at authoring complex assemblies and drawings & models using one or more of thecompanyselected CAD tools.\nCompetent at interpreting and layout drawings, all dimensioning, applying linear and geometric tolerances to British and International Standards, contributes to the companies own Draughting Standard Manual.\nCompetent at designingelectrical wiring assemblies, has an appreciation of working with electronic PCB assemblies and other sub-assemblies in electromechanical designs, with input to the electronics design and PCB layout,softwareand systems activities.\nCompetent at FEA analysis and reporting. \nCompetent at designing for manufacture and production processes. Competent understanding of project and engineering lifecycles andrequiredactivities within own discipline.\nTechnically competent to assess and manage technical risk in their area and honestly present the detail and the wider impact\nAble to communicate succinctly and accurately on technical issues and schemes with internal and external customers and the team.\nProactively able to manage own work\nUses own initiative and makestimelydecisions within the scope of the role and is financially aware of the consequences of decisions.\nGood application of Microsoft packages and relevant software for the role.\nRequired Skills & Experience:\nRelevant qualifications toan appropriate level, typically aBachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineeringor equivalent experience, with significant post-qualification experience in a range of roles within a relevant complex engineering environment.\nPreferably aChartered engineer or equivalent with a recognised professional engineering institution\nExperience with mechanical aspects of PCB & Enclosure design, with focus on designing for EMI & EMC.\nFamiliarity with aerospace materials & manufacturing methods\nUnderstanding of airworthiness and safety for certification.
