The Class A Driver is responsible for their specifically assigned, hands-on tasks, ensuring accuracy and efficiency of the work performed, and ensuring that safety and quality standards are upheld and maintained.\nDriver Responsibilities\nAble to work flexible hours.\nMust possess a valid CDL license at all times.\nConducts and documents daily truck inspections.\nObeys all motor vehicle laws, especially for commercial driving.\nEnsures loads are properly secured on the vehicle when leaving the yard and returning from job sites.\nDriver is required to carry an updated card stating that he/she has had an annual physical that meets the DOT requirements.\nUnderstands how, is capable, and maintains DOT-required logs.\nTakes responsibility for the proper use, maintenance, and safety of all vehicles and equipment.\nComplies with Federal, State, and Doka loading, unloading, safety, driving, and traffic regulations.\nEnsures equipment is and will be functioning properly and is placed and returned to its proper location in the yard.\nRegularly required to reach with hands and arms: climb or balance, and stoop: kneel and/or crouch\nOther Responsibilities/Peripheral Functions\nProperly follows maintenance procedures.\nProperly wears all required personal protective equipment\nImmediately reports all incidents, accidents, unsafe work conditions, problems, or concerns to the immediate supervisor.\nWillingly participates in all mandatory training classes.\nConsistently maintains a clean, well-maintained, and organized work area.\nConsistently complies with all safety requirements\nMust be able to work a flexible schedule and work overtime hours as required.\nOther duties/projects as assigned, including participating in company committees/teams.\nComplies with all company policies, business, and safety practices.\n Qualifications\nHigh school graduate.\nMust possess a valid Class A CDL and state motor vehicle licenses at all times.\nMinimum 5 years of experience with a safe driving record in commercial driving with a Class A CDL license.\nAble to read maps and possess a keen sense of direction.\nExcellent communication skills, including an excellent command of English (speaking, reading, writing). The union hourly rate for this position is $28.21/hr, which is based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, the candidate’s experience, qualifications, skills, and geographic location. After a twelve-month probationary period, the hourly rate will increase to $36.99/hr per the union agreement in place.\nThis range represents the base pay for the position and does not include potential bonuses, commissions, benefits, or other forms of compensation.
