Course Description:

Our Guitar project is a rigorous musical undertaking designed to develop high-level proficiency in acoustic or electric guitar performance, music theory application, and solo arrangement. Students will bridge the gap between mechanical muscle memory and deep music theory. At the end of the year, students will perform in a live Guitar performance featuring a complex, multi-voiced arrangement that demonstrates complete fretboard autonomy, stylistic authenticity, and advanced structural technique.

Preparation & Practice Time:

Up to 2 hours per week preparing for Projects

Hours: Tuesdays and Thursdays from 2:30pm-3:25pm

  • Long-term coaching during “Projects”: Meet with students Tuesdays and Thursdays, 1 hour each day, from September to late May.

  • Occasional after-school participation at school events and activities.

  • An experienced guitarist who is passionate about guitar and teaching it to students!

  • A motivated leader who can teach students in the Guitar Project on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 2:25pm-3:25pm (from September until late May)

  • An enthusiasm for collaborating with internal and external partners in the best interest of students

  • A self-directed learner who solicits and implements feedback to improve outcomes and achieve objectives

  • A demonstrated commitment to supporting students’ social emotional and academic development

Compensation

Coaches will receive an annual stipend of $6,052.00 based on experience and contracted hours per week, paid semi-monthly.

If at any point during the year, you stop performing these responsibilities before they are fully completed, for any reason, your stipend will be adjusted in accordance.
