You will engage with guests from the moment they arrive on-site through the duration of their stay, ensuring every interaction reflects our commitment to exceptional hospitality.\nYour goal is to create memorable guest experiences by ensuring guests have everything they need to relax and enjoy the outdoors with family, friends, and nature. We welcome a diverse range of guests, including groups, families, and individuals with varying interests, backgrounds, and levels of comfort in an outdoor environment.\nThis is a seasonal, hourly position that includes team member housing for the duration of employment.\nCompetencies\nEffective Communication\nAdaptability and Agility\nDecision Making\nInitiative\nKey Responsibilities\nMaintain composure, act decisively, and remain resourceful in unpredictable situations, including changing weather conditions, guest concerns, and operational challenges.\nProvide clear, accurate, complete, and timely communication to guests and team members.\nLearn and share knowledge of local culture, attractions, activities, and outdoor adventures.\nAnticipate operational needs and effectively delegate tasks to team members.\nIndependently resolve guest recovery situations when the Assistant General Manager or General Manager is unavailable.\nIdentify opportunities to streamline processes, improve efficiency, and maximize available resources.\nCreate a warm and welcoming environment through a passion for the outdoors and a commitment to exceptional guest service.\nGreet and check in guests, assist with transportation to accommodations, and provide informative tours of the camp, amenities, activities, and food and beverage offerings.\nAnticipate guest needs and respond promptly to concerns or requests throughout their stay.\nParticipate in daily and weekly meetings to ensure Camp Concierges and Night Auditors are informed of upcoming arrivals, special events, group bookings, and on-site and off-site activities.\nReconcile accounting ledgers, process accounting adjustments, manage credit card transactions, and prepare guest billing.\nEnsure efficient utilization of labor, supplies, and operational resources.\nMeet deadlines and scheduling requirements while maintaining high service standards.\nAssist management with recruiting, hiring, onboarding, training, scheduling, and coaching team members.\nAssign accommodations appropriately based on inventory, guest requests, and reservation guarantees.\nLead the front desk team in supporting Under Canvas sustainability initiatives.\nPartner with the Housekeeping Supervisor to ensure lost-and-found procedures are followed consistently.\nFoster a positive team culture where all employees feel valued, respected, and supported.\nPerform other duties as assigned.\nPreferred Qualifications\nHigh School Diploma or GED.\nOne or more years of supervisory experience, preferably in hospitality, lodging, or guest services.\nExperience with, or the ability to quickly learn, POS and reservation systems.\nAbility to influence others, lead effectively, and work collaboratively within a team environment.\nStrong problem-solving and solution-oriented mindset.\nExcellent customer service and team leadership skills.\nStrong attention to detail and organizational abilities.\nOutstanding communication skills with a genuine, outgoing, friendly, and dynamic personality.\nAdditional Information\nThis position requires the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) when applicable.\nThis position requires the ability to independently lift a minimum of 45 lbs.\nPhysical demands include extensive walking, standing, bending, twisting, lifting, and maneuvering in an outdoor environment on uneven terrain.\nAbility to work in extreme weather conditions, including heat, cold, rain, snow, humidity, and wind.\nEmployment may be contingent upon the satisfactory completion of a background check and/or motor vehicle record check, if required by Under Canvas.\nThis job description may not be inclusive of all assigned duties, responsibilities, or aspects of the position and may be amended at any time at the sole discretion of Under Canvas.\nCompensation and Benefits\nUnder Canvas strives to provide a comprehensive compensation and benefits package that supports the needs of our team members.
