As an Assistant General Manager (AGM), you partner closely with the General Manager (GM) to ensure the camp delivers exceptional guest experiences. The AGM serves as an expert in customer service and operational processes, collaborating daily with team members from front desk, maintenance, housekeeping, and food & beverage. Together with the GM, the AGM communicates goals and expectations to the team and assists where needed.\nCompetencies\nEffective Communication\nAdaptagility\nPlanning and Organizing\nFostering Learning and Development\nInspiring Others\nDecision Making\nInitiative\nKey Responsibilities\nCross trained in each property department\nAbility to travel for task force work at another location when requested\nThink critically to respond and react quickly to ever changing situations on property\nDeliver clear expectations to the team in all operational areas\nProfessional in all internal and external communications\nMaintaining a positive and open-minded attitude\nResolve guest and team member issues quickly and efficiently\nReview applications and conduct interviews\nSupport in hiring decisions to include approvals of extending offers, onboarding tasks and deadlines with GM and HR\nCollaborate with GM and HR to support staffing and retention disciplines\nDelegate tasks\nAble to run the camp and work independently with minimal oversight\nFind ways to streamline processes to maximize efficiency and resource use\nEstablish and maintain relationships with local businesses and communities\nDevelop creative outlets to engage team members and show appreciation or recognition on a consistent and regular basis\nBe growth oriented\nEvaluate, develop, and report on NPS and eNPS action plans\nMonitor financial performance to drive business decisions\nSpearhead new initiatives to drive financial results\nAssist with building of the annual budget for camp location\nSupport with monthly and yearly inventory as needed per department\nCreate synergy across all property departments through strong leadership\nMeet with team members to support their growth and development\nCreate positive work environment that is guest-focused\nEnsure that all camp-level SOPs and expectations are implemented, updated, and maintained\nCollaborate with other members of camp management and the corporate team\nOversee staff housing to include monthly inspections, maintenance issues, housing audits, and be the initial contact for housing employee relations\nCreate and deliver corrective action documents to team members\nAct as the point of contact for payroll approvals and timecard adjustments\nResponsible for oversight of approval all departmental timecards\nPrioritize tasks effectively\nParticipate in camp level and company-wide meetings\nSubmit high quality work products in a timely manner\nRespond to guest reviews in the established time period\nPromote company sustainability initiatives\nOther duties as assigned\nPreferred Qualifications\nHigh School Diploma or GED or equivalent work experience\nAt least 1 year of management experience or 2+ years of supervisory experience, or a combination of both\nDesire for growth in the organization\nCompetently perform duties in absence of GM\nTravel to a variety of camp locations as required\nDemonstrated commitment to delivering high quality customer service\nGoal-oriented, results-driven, strong interpersonal and communication skills\nCommunicate in a clear and professional way\nInteract with a friendly, enthusiastic, positive attitude\nDemonstrate sound judgement, follow direction, and take decisive appropriate action\nLearn, embrace, and train team on company policies, practices, and procedures\nStrong organizational skills to execute and prioritize multiple tasks\nAble to influence and inspire teams\nAbility to work independently and meet deadlines on assigned projects\nProficiency in Microsoft Office Suiteand in HMSand POS systems\nParticipate in educational and training opportunities\nPrior experience in budgeting, reporting, and P&L management\nUnderstanding of property management systems\nBasic knowledge of maintenance operations\nPrior food and beverage experience\nHospitality experience preferred, but not required\nAdditional Information\nAbility to work outdoors for long periods of time, including during extreme heat and cold or weather events\nAbility to lift 30lbs independently; all lifts over 31 lbs. require assistance from a co-worker\nStand and walk over slippery and/or uneven natural walking surfaces for majority of workday\nBend and stoop\nObserve and respond to dangerous situations\nOperate guest transport carts and/or property vehicle\nTravel as needed\nFood Handler (ServSafe) Manager Certification Must be obtained by property opening date or before starting any work involving food or alcohol handling\n\nThis position is contingent upon the satisfactory completion of a motor vehicle records check, if requested by Under Canvas.\nCOMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:\nUnder Canvas strives to provide a comprehensive benefits and compensation package that addresses the needs of our team members.
