The position is based in Nairobi and requires on-site work.\n\nRole Purpose:\n\nThis position will be responsible for ensuring efficiency in sales operations through overseeing and optimization of Distribution Operations and ensuring all products ordered by the customers are delivered efficiently on time, in full and error free while optimizing the use of company vehicles and hired transport in delivery.\n\nKey Responsibilities\n\nCustomer Relationship Management\n\nWork closely with the sales team on customer requirements and coordinate the operation team on product availability.\n\nCoordinate with Customer Service Rep. & Sales Team on customer orders for delivery schedules and timely delivery.\n\nReview and approve customer orders, plan and accomplish delivery of customers’ orders effectively within set timelines, in liaison with Customer Service Executive and Sales Representatives.\n\nCoordinating logistics for market returns from trade to enhance good trade relations while preventing undue loss to the company.\n\nCoordinating customer orders for special products and cross-border shipments, ensuring flow of information and goods.\n\nPublic relations/ customer service; attending to enquiries, sales and complaints from walk-in customers at the plant\n\nOverall process ownership for Proof of Delivery (POD) to prevent loss of revenue.\n\nFleet Management\n\nEnsure timely and effective maintenance of company trucks to minimum their downtime /& minimize distribution disruption.\n\nEnforce adherence to the maintenance schedules and trucks roadworthy by third party transporters – maintain close relations with hired transporters\n\nManage the availability of both company and hired vehicles to meet the delivery requirements for all customer orders.\n\nImplement and achieve agreed performance targets and efficiencies for both company and hired fleet – Truck capacity utilization, fuel consumption, repair and maintenance\n\nLogistic Management\n\nDevelop and implement distribution strategies to optimize the flow of goods and manage the distribution costs.\n\nCoordinate logistics for interplant transfer and stock allocation daily to ensure balance in stock availability for both UL plants\n\nAvailing trucks and planning for by-products logistics in liaison with Warehouse team – Ensure Mill operations are not interrupted due to filled up byproduct store.\n\nCompliance\n\nEnsuring compliance with County Distribution Licenses in ALL the County Governments that fall within the scope of delivery\n\nWork closely with the operations team to ensure all the products being distributed meet statutory requirements and regulatory requirement – product and permit compliance.\n\nEnforce road discipline and adherence to the rules by the distribution assistant.\n\nEnsure all distribution trucks are road work and inspection and insurance compliant.\n\nPeople Management & Employee Capacity Building\n\nDevelop, motivate and direct staff in the department for excellent delivery service\n\nConducting monthly Distribution Team performance reviews.\n\nOffer Coaching and mentoring to develop employees.\n\nRegularly conduct face to face sessions and ensure timely closure of action identified.\n\nPrepare and implement employee personal development plans in liaison with the HRBP.\n\nTrain and review employees skill levels and timely address skill gaps through TWI\n\nQualifications\n\nBachelor’s degree in business-related discipline, supply chain management, Logistics Management, Procurement or Related Field.\n\nMinimum five (5) years’ experience in Warehouse, fleet operations and logistics management with at least (3 years supervisory/ managerial level.\n\nComputer proficiency especially with Microsoft Excel.\n\nGood presentation skills, administrative writing and reporting skills\n\nStrong working knowledge of warehouse operations, Logistic and Distribution
