The role ensures the smooth flow of materials and products by effectively planning, coordinating, monitoring, documenting, and communicating assigned movements, while proactively addressing delays and minimizing storage costs, transport inefficiencies, and supply disruptions.\n\nKey Duties & Responsibilities:\n\n Interplant Transfer Coordination\n\nCoordinate the movement of raw materials, finished goods, and other products between company plants, depots, and other designated storage areas.\n\nLiaise with the sending and receiving plants to confirm movement requirements, quantities, loading schedules, and delivery priorities.\n\nCoordinate vehicle allocation and dispatch in line with approved transport plans.\n\nTrack vehicles from loading point to destination and provide regular status updates.\n\nFollow up on delivery documentation, including delivery notes, transfer documents, weighbridge tickets, and proof of delivery.\n\nIdentify and escalate delays, vehicle breakdowns, loading challenges, or other operational issues affecting transfers.\n\nMaintain accurate records of all interplant movements.\n\n Warehouse/ storage areas to Plant Logistics\n\nCoordinate the movement of bulk cargo from the designated loading areas to the respective plant or designated warehouse.\n\nLiaise with the logistics officer- Imports and transporters to ensure cargo is moved within the required timelines.\n\nMonitor cargo availability, customs clearance status, transport allocation, and delivery schedules.\n\nEnsure relevant delivery and transport documentation is properly captured and filed.\n\nEscalate potential delays that may affect production, customer supply, or logistics costs.\n\nRail Coordination\n\nSupport the planning and coordination of rail movements from the rail terminal to the plants\n\nLiaise with railway operators and internal stakeholders on rail movement schedules.\n\nMonitor wagon loading, dispatch, arrival, and offloading activities.\n\nTrack rail consignments and provide regular movement status updates.\n\nCoordinate with the receiving plant to ensure readiness for arrival and offloading.\n\nFollow up on rail delays, wagon availability, documentation issues, and operational constraints.\n\nMaintain accurate records of rail movements and associated documentation.\n\nTransporter Coordination\n\nCommunicate daily transport requirements to appointed transporters.\n\nFollow up on vehicle availability, driver details, vehicle positioning, loading, and delivery.\n\nMonitor transporter performance against agreed service requirements.\n\nReport recurring service failures, delays, or non-compliance to the Logistics Manager\n\nSupport the verification of transport documentation and delivery records.\n\nLogistics Tracking & Reporting\n\nMaintain daily logistics movement trackers covering road, rail, interplant, and plant deliveries.\n\nPrepare daily/weekly logistics status reports as required.\n\nMonitor key logistics performance indicators, including:\n\nOn-time delivery\n\nVehicle turnaround time\n\nPort-to-plant transit time\n\nRail transit time\n\nLoading/offloading delays\n\nStorage exposure\n\nPending deliveries\n\nProof of delivery compliance\n\nMaintain an updated record of outstanding and delayed movements.\n\nSupport reconciliation of transport and delivery records.\n\nDocumentation & Compliance\n\nEnsure logistics documentation is complete, accurate, and properly filed.\n\nVerify delivery notes, transfer documents, weighbridge tickets, container details, and proof of delivery.\n\nFollow company logistics procedures, transport policies, and safety requirements.\n\nEnsure movements comply with applicable statutory and company requirements.\n\nEscalate documentation gaps or compliance issues promptly.\n\nJob Requirements\n\nAcademic Qualifications\n\nBachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Transport Management, Business Management, or a related field.\n\nProfessional Qualifications\n\nCertification in Fleet/ Logistics or Transport Management is an added advantage. \n\nExperience\n\nMinimum 3–5 years’ experience in logistics, warehouse, and transport operations management.\n\nExperience in transport coordination, fleet tracking, warehouse operations, or distribution will be an added advantage.\n\nExposure to road, rail, containerized cargo, or interplant logistics is desirable.\n\nProficiency in Microsoft Excel and other standard office applications.\n\nKnowledge of ERP/logistics management systems is an added advantage.\n\nKey Attributes and competencies\n\nStrong coordination, communication, and follow-up skills. \n\nGood organizational, time-management, and attention-to-detail skills. \n\nAbility to manage multiple logistics movements in a fast-paced environment. \n\nStrong problem-solving, escalation, and stakeholder management skills. \n\nBasic
