Responsible for supervising production activities, coordinating production staff, monitoring output and quality, ensuring safety standards, managing production schedules, and reducing operational delays. The position is based in Nairobi and requires on-site work.\n\nRole Purpose:\n\nCoordinate production activities and ensure availability of high-quality products produced at optimum cost in a safe environment by highly motivated staff.\n\nKey Responsibilities:\n\nProduction Planning\n\nEnsuring that quality finished goods are produced and availed in the warehouse based on Time in Full and Error Free within each shift (both physical and SAP).\n\nLiaise with Finished Goods Supervisor to develop a production schedule based on customer requirements.\n\nLiaise with RMPM Supervisor to ensure required raw and packing materials are availed to support a smooth execution of the production schedule.\n\nEnsure proper shift planning to avail required human resource as per the production plan manage the leave & off liability.\n\nAnalyzing raw data generated by production teams and creating accurate and timely reports as appropriate (Operations, KPI report, among others).\n\nIn liaison with Maintenance Supervisor, ensure availability of plant and machinery for proper maintenance.\n\nProduction Efficiencies\n\nEnsure optimal machine utilization, adhering to the throughputs, and machine capacities as well as efficiencies at >85%.\n\nConduct an onboarding and training for all employees to increase TWI score thus to reduce process variations.\n\nEnsure CI (AM/TPM/CBM) activities are done as scheduled to maintain optimal machine performance.\n\nMonitor machine performance and conduct root cause analysis where there is gaps and take corrective actions.\n\nEnsure production activities are done in line with budgeted cost.\n\nEnsure Production KPIs are achieved within quality specifications.\n\nProduction Reporting\n\nDaily review of production reconciliations to reduce inventory & production variances.\n\nMaintaining up to date formulations & ensure timely cost updates for all the materials in SAP.\n\nEnsure real time and accurate posting/receipts of raw materials, packing material and finished goods in SAP.\n\nCollect and collate data through the month and prepare accurate error free daily, weekly and monthly production reports.\n\nPrepare timely and accurate production monthly valuation report following an effective stock take.\n\nPeople Management\n\nConduct timely onboarding process for the new employees and ensure that they understand all the processes.\n\nPlan and improve Operators technical skills within production through the use of Training Within Industry (TWI), Coaching, Mentoring and implementation of Personal Development Plans (PDPs)\n\nOversee work performance of company staff including goal setting, their deployment, performance review, face-to-face discussions, learning & development, staff welfare and ensure adherence to company policies\n\nIn liaison with HR, prepare and implement employee personal development plans\n\nPlan and allocate optimum number of Outsourced labour to achieve set Manpower productivity targets\n\nIdentify and recognize good performance to improve staff engagement\n\nDevelop and implement shift plans; manage leave and off days.\n\nFood Safety\n\nEnsure FSMS (ISO 22000:2018) and production process controls are practiced and audit citations on the same are closed.\n\nUphold Good Manufacturing programs / procedures, monitoring and auditing and action closure\n\nEnsure steady flow of production activities by producing high quality products and adhering to the required specifications.\n\nDrive adherence to FSMS through spot checks and timely trainings\n\nIdentify and address/report all quality and feed safety/ biosecurity issues during daily operations\n\nSafety, Health and Environment (SHE)\n\nPromote Safety & Health of all workers and equipment in the production areas.\n\nInvestigate all near misses, accidents and incidents and ensure timely closure of preventive measures\n\nDrive a culture of hazard spotting and elimination of unsafe conditions at production areas\n\nIdentify unsafe behaviours involving production staff and take appropriate actions\n\nEnsure timely SHE audit action closure\n\nContinual Improvement\n\nEnsure PaTaMu initiatives and projects are implemented in Production areas leading to Continual Improvement.\n\nEnsure employees have a good understanding of Continual Improvement and how the PaTaMu model works.\n\nContinuously identify opportunities for improvement within the Production areas\n\nEncourage generation and implementation of PaTaMu ideas to drive a culture of innovation and creativity.\n\nDrive an effective accountability system in Production through Daily Work Management (DWM).\n\nUtilize Daily Standard Work & Leader Standard Work to manage work Any other assigned duties.\n\nQualifications\n\nA Bachelor’s degree in Animal Health/Production /Engineering/Food Science or related field.\n\nMinimum 3 years’ experience working in a busy manufacturing environment preferably at supervisory level.\n\nKnowledge of ISO 22000 & biosecurity controls are an added advantage.\n\nCompetent in problem solving, planning and decision-making skills.\n\nComputer proficiency.\n\nAbility to work with
