Unilabs invests heavily in technology, equipment, and people - using digital technologies in its state-of-the-art laboratories and imaging institutes - to improve the lives of close to 100 million people every year.\nRole Overview:\nUnilabs is undertaking a significant transformation of its core infrastructure and applications to improve service delivery, operational efficiency, resilience and alignment with its long-term strategic objectives.\nThe Infrastructure & Cloud Manager is accountable for the strategy, governance, transformation and service performance of infrastructure, cloud and platform services across Portugal and Spain, underpinning clinical and diagnostic operations that run 24/7.\nThe role leads the evolution of infrastructure services towards a secure, resilient, scalable and cost-effective target state, aligned with Group technology strategy and Iberia business priorities. It provides leadership across Cloud and Platforms; Windows, Virtualisation and Backup; Network and Connectivity; and Database, Continuity and Governance.\nWorking closely with Group technology teams, Cybersecurity, Iberia IT leaders, business stakeholders and external service providers, the role ensures operational excellence, clear accountability, effective service transition and the structured reduction of legacy technology and technical debt.\nThe role contributes to the continued evolution of the Iberia IT operating model and the future of UniTech. Leading a lean team, it combines leadership with hands-on technical involvement, and requires strong ownership, customer orientation, comfort with ambiguity and the ability to lead through transition while maintaining operational excellence.\nKey Responsibilities\nStrategy and Transformation\nDefine and maintain the Iberia infrastructure strategy, target state, architecture principles and multiyear roadmap, aligned with Group technology strategy and business priorities.\nLead the modernisation of Iberia infrastructure, cloud and platform services and the structured reduction of legacy technology and technical debt, supported by decision frameworks for cloud adoption, datacentre evolution and infrastructure investment.\nCoordinate infrastructure contributions to major business and technology transformation programmes, ensuring architecture alignment, security and resilience requirements, operational readiness and successful transition into service.\nService Operations\nAct as the Iberia service owner for infrastructure and cloud services, maintaining clear service scope, ownership, performance measures, risks, dependencies and improvement plans.\nEnsure the reliability, availability, capacity, performance and lifecycle management of infrastructure services across Portugal and Spain, in line with 24/7 clinical and diagnostic operations.\nProvide hands-on technical leadership on complex escalations, critical incidents and key design decisions, ensuring recurring issues are addressed through problem management.\nEnsure appropriate backup, business continuity, disaster recovery and operational-resilience capabilities are defined, maintained and regularly validated.\nSecurity, Compliance and Governance\nLead the implementation of infrastructure security controls, vulnerability remediation and hardening activities, in alignment with Cybersecurity and CISO functions and with NIS-2 requirements.\nEstablish and enforce infrastructure governance, standards, documentation and lifecycle controls, ensuring assets, configurations, dependencies and service ownership are accurately recorded in the relevant repositories.\nSuppliers, Budget and Stakeholders\nManage infrastructure suppliers and service providers, including service performance, risks, costs, contractual obligations, service levels, improvement commitments and escalation.\nOwn infrastructure budget planning, forecasting, cost optimisation, investment prioritisation and supporting business cases.\nPartner with Group technology teams, Iberia IT leaders and business stakeholders to align priorities, dependencies and delivery plans, and clarify accountability within the Iberia IT operating model.\nTeam Leadership\nLead and develop the Infrastructure team, setting clear objectives, accountability and development plans while strengthening documentation, delegation and succession.\nRequirements\nQualifications and Competencies:\nAt least seven years of relevant experience in enterprise infrastructure, cloud or technology services within a complex, multi-site environment, including demonstrable management or leadership responsibility.\nHands-on technical expertise in enterprise infrastructure, networks, Azure cloud, Microsoft 365, virtualisation, backup and operational resilience.\nExperience in 24/7 critical operations; knowledge of healthcare/biomedical and regulatory environments (incl. NIS-2) preferred.\nProficiency in ITIL frameworks and operational best practices.\nStrong cybersecurity awareness and experience working with CISO functions.\nExcellent stakeholder management and ability to work in matrix global environments.\nHigh resilience, adaptability, problem-solving ability, and a customer-service mindset.\nStrong communication skills (written, verbal, visual).\nExperience managing vendors and commercial contracts.\nAbility to lead teams and drive complex transformation programmes.\nFluent in Portuguese and English; proficiency in Spanish is advantageous.\nTechnical Skills Required:\nStrong knowledge of Microsoft Azure and hybrid-cloud environments.\nStrong understanding of Microsoft infrastructure and Microsoft 365 ecosystems.\nExperience with Windows Server, virtualisation, storage, backup and recovery technologies.\nGood understanding of enterprise networking, connectivity, firewalls, Wi-Fi and remote-access services.\nUnderstanding of identity and access management, privileged-access controls and infrastructure security.\nExperience with infrastructure monitoring, observability, capacity and performance management.\nKnowledge of database platforms, business continuity, disaster recovery and operational resilience.\nUnderstanding of vulnerability, patch and infrastructure lifecycle management.\nExperience applying ITIL-based incident, problem, change and service-management practices.\nAbility to assess infrastructure architecture, technical risk, operational readiness and investment proposals.\n_____________________________________________________________________________\n Recruitment Fraud Warning\nUnilabs does not request payments, banking information, or purchases from candidates during the recruitment process.
