{"id":3409148,"url":"https://alion.io/job/unilever-payroll-implementation-specialist","title":"Payroll Implementation Specialist","company":{"id":4977,"name":"Unilever","domain":"unilever.com","url":"https://alion.io/company/unilever","size_band":"1001-5000","is_staffing_agency":false,"employer_type":"direct","is_intermediary":false,"listed_via":null,"ats_vendor":"Workday","truth_index":{"grade":"A","score":100,"open_postings":60,"ghost_share":0,"stale_share":0.017,"repost_share":0.183,"time_to_fill_p50_days":13,"computed_at":"2026-10-31T05:58:55Z"}},"role":"Solutions","role_family":"Solutions","seniority":null,"employment_type":"contractor","work_mode":"on_site","remote_scope":null,"remote_scope_basis":null,"remote_working_hours":null,"hiring_geo_confidence":"structured","locations":["Lagos, Nigeria"],"countries":["NG"],"hiring_countries":[],"hiring_countries_total":0,"salary":null,"salary_estimate":{"min_usd":13500,"max_usd":36000,"period":"year","method":null,"sample_n":6503},"experience_years_min":null,"visa_sponsorship":false,"relocation_package":false,"has_equity":false,"technologies":[],"status":"live","first_seen_at":"2026-10-28T16:32:58Z","employer_posted_date":null,"last_verified_at":"2026-10-28T16:32:58Z","board_verified":false,"closed_at":null,"days_open":3,"trust":{"level":"not_scored","repost_count":null,"flags":[],"days_open":3},"description":"Unilever Nigeria Plc - Welcome to Unilever, a global multinational and fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) company with products sold in over 190 countries and more than 2 billion consumers across the world who use our amazing products everyday!\n\nWe are recruiting to fill the position below:\n\nJob Title: Payroll Implementation Specialist\n\nLocation: Lagos\n\nEmployment Type: Contract\n\nWorking hours: 8am - 5pm (Mondays - Fridays)\n\nMain Responsibilities\n\n Support the implementation of payroll operations and Day 1 payroll readiness across assigned markets. \n\n Gather payroll requirements and work with vendors to ensure compliance with local tax, statutory, and social security regulations. \n\n Review payroll processes and recommend improvements to ensure operational efficiency and compliance. \n\n Create, maintain, and update payroll standard operating procedures (SOPs) and process documentation. \n\n Support payroll data migration activities, including data mapping, validation, and testing.\n\n Execute payroll testing, parallel runs, reconciliations, and go-live readiness activities to ensure accurate payroll processing. \n\n Review and validate payroll inputs, including benefits, deductions, and time and attendance data.\n\n Support payroll system integrations between HR, payroll, finance, banking, and other business systems. \n\n Ensure payroll accounting entries, cost allocations, and finance interfaces are accurate and properly maintained.\n\n Track project risks, issues, and dependencies and ensure timely resolution and escalation where required. \n\n Maintain project documentation, implementation plans, status reports, and governance records. \n\n Collaborate with HR, Finance, IT, Tax, Treasury, vendors, and other stakeholders to deliver project milestones. \n\n Support payroll processing activities, audits, reconciliations, and performance monitoring where required.\n\nRequirements\n\n 5-8 years of proven experience in payroll implementation, transition or transformation, preferably within a multi-country environment.\n\n Strong hands-on knowledge of payroll systems and integrations – Workday and SAP, General Ledger / Finance interfaces and payroll accounting.\n\n Demonstrated payroll processing expertise (gross-to-net, statutory deductions, benefits, Time & Attendance) and understanding of local labor, tax and social-security requirements.\n\n Experience managing third-party payroll vendors, service designs, Service Level Agreements (SLAs) and vendor governance.\n\n Solid grasp of test management, parallel runs, data migration and cutover methodology.\n\n Ability to manage and track multiple concurrent requests under tight, fixed payroll deadlines with accuracy and composure.\n\n Strong governance, controls and compliance discipline (SOX, COBP, GFCF);
