The role performs routine inspections, preventive and corrective maintenance, troubleshooting, operational monitoring, and improvement activities to minimize downtime, maintain required utility parameters, and support uninterrupted manufacturing operations.\nThe position also supports Utilities Maintenance projects, Kaizen initiatives, wastewater treatment operations, energy efficiency, and the development of in-house technical capability among Utilities Shifters.\nKEY RESPONSIBILITIES\n Utilities Operation and Maintenance\nOperate, inspect, monitor, troubleshoot, and maintain the following plant utility systems and equipment: Fire Alarm Detection and Protection System (FDAS), Water Treatment and Distribution System, Boilers and Steam Distribution System, Chillers and Chilled Water System, Standby Generators, Air Compressors and Compressed Air Distribution System, Fire Pump and Fire Pump Engine, Air Handling Units (AHUs) and associated HVAC equipment, Wastewater Treatment Plant (WWTP)\nMonitor operating parameters such as pressure, temperature, flow, water quality, electrical load, utility consumption, and equipment condition, as applicable.\nIdentify abnormalities and initiate appropriate troubleshooting, corrective action, or escalation to prevent breakdowns and production interruptions.\nPreventive and Corrective Maintenance\nPerform scheduled preventive maintenance in accordance with approved maintenance plans and OEM recommendations.\nPerform first-line mechanical troubleshooting within authorized competency.\nInspect pumps, motors, valves, compressors, boilers, chillers, AHUs, generators, piping, and associated equipment.\nReport recurring failures and support root cause analysis and permanent corrective actions.\nMaintain accurate equipment history, inspection, maintenance, and troubleshooting records.\nUtilities Efficiency and Reliability\nMonitor performance to maintain reliable plant services while minimizing unnecessary energy, water, fuel, and compressed-air consumption.\nIdentify compressed-air leaks, water leaks, abnormal equipment loading, excessive consumption, and deteriorating performance.\nRecommend and implement approved actions to improve equipment efficiency, availability, and reliability.\nProject Implementation and Kaizen\nLead or support Utilities Maintenance, reliability, safety, efficiency, and Kaizen projects.\nAssist in equipment installation, modification, testing, commissioning, and turnover.\nCoordinate with Engineering, Maintenance, Production, contractors, and suppliers during project execution.\nSupport initiatives involving energy reduction, water conservation, compressed-air optimization, maintenance cost reduction, waste reduction, and utility system improvement.\nEnsure assigned activities are completed according to approved scope, schedule, technical specifications, and safety requirements.\nTechnical Expertise and Capability Development\nServe as a technical resource for boilers, air compressors, water treatment and distribution, FDAS, AHUs, generators, utility pumps, motors, valves, and related process-support equipment.\nDevelop the in-house capability of Utilities Shifters through: Hands-on technical coaching and knowledge transfer; Standard operating and maintenance practices; Troubleshooting guides, checklists, and practical training; Skills assessment and development planning; Best-practice sharing to reduce unnecessary dependence on external service providers.\nWastewater Treatment Plant Support\nPerform maintenance activities of the Wastewater Treatment Plant as aligned to maintenance schedule.\nMonitor treatment equipment condition.\nAssist with pumps, blowers, mixers, chemical dosing systems, treatment tanks, instrumentation, and associated equipment.\nSupport in housekeeping, and preventive maintenance.\nImmediately report and repair abnormal equipment or treatment conditions that may affect plant operation or discharge compliance.\nSafety, Environmental, and Compliance\nComply with plant SHE requirements, Lockout/Tagout, Permit-to-Work, electrical safety, confined-space requirements, chemical safety, and equipment-specific procedures.\nMaintain utilities equipment and work areas in a safe, clean, and serviceable condition.\nImmediately report unsafe conditions, leaks, spills, equipment abnormalities, and environmental concerns. Conduct repair and maintenance. \nParticipate in emergency response activities involving power failure, water interruption, fire protection systems, and other utility emergencies.\nSupport regulatory inspections, audits, preventive maintenance records, and compliance documentation.\nQUALIFICATIONS\nGraduate of a technical course in Electrical, Mechanical, Electromechanical, Refrigeration and Air Conditioning, Industrial Technology, or an equivalent discipline.\nPreferably a Certified Plant Mechanic or a Registered Mechanical Engineer.\nMinimum of 1-2 years of relevant work experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment involving boilers, chillers, HVAC systems, air compressors, water treatment, wastewater treatment, generator pumps and motors, fire protection, FDAS, electrical controls, or instrumentation.\nTechnical Skills such as equipment inspection, troubleshooting, and preventive maintenance.
