This includes assisting with air, water, and waste compliance efforts, contributing to sustainability and conservation initiatives, and supporting data reporting through tools like Tableau. Interns may also work with the Environmental Services & Technology team on analytics and visualization projects.\nIn addition to project support, the intern will collaborate with subject matter experts across various environmental disciplines, manage assigned projects from start to finish, and contribute to the team’s commitment to compliant and sustainable operations. The role involves regular interaction with team members and leadership, and offers opportunities to apply problem-solving, technical, and communication skills in a real-world setting.\nAs an intern, you will build knowledge and experience in our core business groups and their vision, business objectives, processes, systems, and services. You will have extensive contact with peers and interaction with senior leaders. There will also be an opportunity to put leadership, technical skills, and business knowledge to immediate use through high-value project assignments.\nThe position will be administered as a year-round internship at Union Pacific's headquarters in Omaha, Nebraska. The work schedule is flexible and can be designed to accommodate the course commitments of the successful candidate. A flexible work schedule includes an average of 15-20 hours per week during the academic year, with up to 40 hours per week available during the summer months.\nThe estimated wage for this position is between $21-$25 per hour. Final rate of pay will be based on several factors including year of study, qualifications, experience, and internal equity.\nAccountabilities\nLearn core business processes and systems within environmental operations\nAssist with data analytics and reporting projects using tools like Tableau\nBuild self-service reports and visualizations to support decision-making\nProvide operational support to department business group members\nDevelop and execute project action plans and perform team assignments\nBuild and strengthen a network of professional contacts across the company\nPerform other duties as assigned\nQualifications - Required\nCollege credits equivalent to one (1) year or more toward an undergraduate degree\nIntermediate verbal and written communication skills\nIntermediate organization, prioritization and time/project management skills\nQualifications -
