We integrate with local and global payment methods, connect payment agents to service providers, and build communication solutions that enable customer engagement across SMS, messaging apps, and more.\nRole Purpose\nThe primary focus of this role is to design and implement API and redirect integrations with various payment providers, improve system performance, and ensure best practices across Unipesa’s codebase.\nKey Responsibilities\nDevelop payment API integrations, optimise PHP code and database queries \nBuild and maintain scalable architectures to support high transaction volumes\n\nRefactor and modernise legacy integrations, ensuring maintainability and performance\n\nCollaborate with Business Analysts, QA Engineers, and DevOps to ensure reliable product delivery\n\nParticipate in architectural planning and implementation of new system components\n\nReview code, enforce development standards, and mentor junior developers\n\nContribute to continuous improvement of development processes and automation\n\nTech Stack\nPHP 7+, Native PHP, Laravel\n\nMySQL, Redis\n\nDocker\n\nKafka, RabbitMQ are a plus\n\nIdeal Candidate\n5+ years of commercial back-end development experience\n\nAdvanced knowledge of PHP and modern frameworks (Laravel preferred)\n\nStrong understanding of software architecture, scalability, and system design\n\nProven experience with RESTful APIs, JSON, and third-party integrations\n\nDeep understanding of relational and non-relational data storage (MySQL, Redis, etc.)\n\nSolid experience in debugging, profiling, and performance tuning\n\nPassion for clean, maintainable, and testable code\n\nSpeaks Russian and English (A2)\n\nNice to Have\nExperience with development automation (templating, CI/CD, AI-assisted coding)\n\nJavaScript, Vue.js (Inertia.js is a plus)\n\nKnowledge of message queues (Kafka, RabbitMQ)\n\nFamiliarity with columnar databases (ClickHouse)\n\nIT Security fundamentals\n\nExperience with
