Atlassian Forge Development Engineer, Integration and Migration

Join an international migration project focused on transitioning a large-scale ITSM environment from ServiceNow to Jira Service Management Cloud. As an Atlassian Forge Development Engineer, you will be responsible for building custom solutions, integrations, and migration tooling that support the successful delivery of the new platform. You will work in an agile, fully remote nearshore team, using modern Atlassian technologies to develop scalable and secure cloud-based solutions. English is the working language, while German is considered an advantage.

Job Description

As an Atlassian Forge Development Engineer, you will design and develop custom Jira Service Management Cloud solutions and integrations while supporting the migration from ServiceNow.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Developing custom applications using Atlassian Forge and Jira Service Management Cloud

• Building integrations with chat platforms, email services, monitoring tools, and other enterprise systems

• Developing self-service portals and mobile-friendly solutions

• Designing and implementing secure APIs, webhooks, and OAuth-based integrations

• Executing technical data migrations including tickets, comments, attachments, knowledge base content, and CMDB data

• Building migration utilities, performing migration dry runs, and maintaining reconciliation logs

• Supporting event management integrations, alert routing, and escalation workflows

• Ensuring secure coding practices and technical documentation standards

• Participating in Scrum ceremonies, deployments, testing, and cutover activities

Requirements

• Strong hands-on experience with Atlassian Forge development in production environments

• Experience delivering end-to-end Forge applications using:

  • Custom UI

  • UI Kit

  • Forge SQL

  • Key Value Store (KVS)

  • Realtime

  • Remotes

  • Web Triggers

  • Forge CLI deployment lifecycle

• At least one application published on the Atlassian Marketplace

• Experience building secure integrations using OAuth, REST APIs, webhooks, JavaScript/TypeScript, and Node.js

• Experience with large-scale data migrations, batch processing, reconciliation, and migration validation

• Professional working proficiency in English

• Ability to work independently and take ownership of technical deliverables

Nice to Have

• Atlassian Certified ITSM Specialist

• Atlassian Forge Fundamentals certification

• Atlassian Rovo Fundamentals certification

• Experience with Event Management, alerting, escalation workflows, and monitoring integrations

• Experience integrating enterprise systems, middleware, RPA, or CI/CD platforms

• Experience with email integrations and attachment handling

• German language skills
