The role splits its time between the Business Availability team, which designs highly available Linux and Unix infrastructure and reduces reliance on planned maintenance windows, and the Disaster Recovery practice, which validates that Linux and Unix solutions meet recovery objectives. Both halves rest on a strong background in Linux, Unix, and AIX systems administration, which the role also draws on directly for hands-on assessment, troubleshooting, and remediation of availability and recovery issues.\nCore Responsibilities\nLeadership & Strategy\nLeads Business Availability and Disaster Recovery strategy for Unix/Linux/AIX systems across the account. \nEnsures availability and DR strategy align with corporate business requirements and objectives. \nBusiness & Systems Alignment\nApplies extensive knowledge of business availability requirements to systems design, development, and support. \nTranslates long-term business requirements into systems and infrastructure design decisions. \nBusiness Availability Responsibilities\nAssesses and documents current-state Linux and Unix solution architectures. \nDesigns and recommends high-availability Linux and Unix solutions, including Red Hat clustering, KVM, and AIX environments, aligned with business and technical requirements. \nDevelops migration strategies, implementation roadmaps, and associated bills of materials for Linux and Unix environments. \nEnsures proposed Linux/Unix solutions integrate effectively with the Disaster Recovery practice. \nCollaborates with account teams to gather operational knowledge and support transition planning. \nDisaster Recovery Responsibilities\nLeads design reviews to validate that Linux and Unix solutions meet recovery objectives. \nOwns DR documentation, runbooks, and supporting artifacts for Linux and Unix systems. \nCoordinates and executes planned DR testing activities. \nMonitors and evaluates DR infrastructure capacity for Linux and Unix systems across on-premises and cloud environments. \nSupporting Systems Administration Background\nProvides systems administration support (installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of hardware, software, applications, and connectivity) for Linux and Unix environments across multiple locations, as needed to support availability and DR objectives. \nAdvises on programming tools, database systems, and networks relevant to Linux/Unix environments. \nCoordinates with clients and stakeholders on recommendations to address availability and reliability issues. \nYou will be successful in this role if you have:\nBA/BS degree and 8+ years of relevant experience OR equivalent combination of education and experience.\n\nMaster's degree preferred.\n\nExpert-level expertisein Linux systems administration and enterprise infrastructure design.\n\nProven ability to lead technical teams and advise across the organization on complex, business-critical issues.\n\nExperience with Red Hat Linux, including KVM and clustering.\n\nExperience with AIX.\n\nFamiliarity with Unix.\n\nFamiliarity with VMware.\n\nFamiliarity with disaster recovery and high availability in cloud environments - Oracle OCI and Microsoft Azure.\n\nU.S. Citizenship and U.S. residency required.\n\nThis role may require access to export-controlled commodities and technology.
