Success Looks Like In This Role :\n\nWe are looking for an experienced Architect to define and drive the technical vision for our platforms.\n\nYou will own the end-to-end architecture of enterprise-grade applications spanning Java and PHP services, web service integrations, PostgreSQL data platforms, cloud infrastructure, and AI-enabled capabilities.\n\nYou will guide engineering teams, set standards, and ensure solutions are scalable, secure, resilient, and aligned with business goals.\n\nArchitecture & Design :\n\n- Define and own the enterprise and solution architecture across backend, data, integration, and cloud layers.\n\n- Design scalable, high-availability systems using microservices, event-driven, and API-first approaches.\n\n- Create architecture blueprints, HLD/LLD documents, and technical roadmaps.\n\n- Evaluate and select technologies, frameworks, and tools, with clear trade-off analysis.\n\n- Lead modernization of legacy PHP and Java monoliths into modular or cloud-native architectures.\n\nWeb Services & Integration :\n\n- Define API strategy and standards for REST, SOAP, GraphQL, and event-based integrations.\n\n- Design secure integration patterns with third-party and internal systems (API gateways, ESBs, message brokers).\n\n- Ensure API governance, versioning, documentation, and lifecycle management.\n\nData Architecture :\n\n- Architect data models and database strategy using PostgreSQL and SQL.\n\n- Guide on indexing, partitioning, replication, high availability, backup/DR, and performance tuning.\n\n- Define data migration, retention, and governance approaches.\n\nCloud & Infrastructure :\n\n- Design and govern cloud architecture on AWS / Azure / GCP.\n\n- Drive adoption of containers, Kubernetes, serverless, and Infrastructure as Code.\n\n- Own non-functional requirements: scalability, performance, availability, cost optimization, and observability.\n\n- Establish DevOps and CI/CD best practices.\n\nAI & Innovation :\n\n- Define the strategy for embedding AI/ML and Generative AI into products and platforms.\n\n- Architect solutions involving LLM integration, RAG pipelines, vector databases, embeddings, and AI agents.\n\n- Establish AI governance covering data privacy, model security, cost control, and responsible AI use.\n\n- Evaluate build vs. buy decisions for AI capabilities.\n\nSecurity & Compliance :\n\n- Embed security by design (OAuth2, OIDC, JWT, encryption, OWASP, secrets management).\n\n- Ensure compliance with relevant standards such as ISO 27001, SOC 2, GDPR, or HIPAA, as applicable.\n\nLeadership & Collaboration :\n\n- Provide technical leadership and mentorship to senior engineers and tech leads.\n\n- Conduct architecture and design reviews, and enforce engineering standards.\n\n- Partner with product, business stakeholders, and executive leadership to translate business needs into technical solutions.\n\n- Support pre-sales, estimations, and client presentations where applicable.\n\n- Lead proof-of-concepts and technical risk assessments.\n\nRequired Qualifications :\n\n- 15+ years of software engineering experience, with 5+ years in an architect role.\n\n- Deep expertise in Java (Spring Boot, JPA/Hibernate, JVM tuning) and strong working knowledge of PHP (Laravel / Symfony).\n\n- Extensive experience designing web services (REST, SOAP, JSON/XML, API gateways).\n\n- Advanced knowledge of PostgreSQL and SQL, including performance engineering and HA/DR design.\n\n- Strong hands-on experience architecting solutions on at least one major cloud platform (AWS, Azure, or GCP).\n\n- Practical experience designing AI/ML or GenAI-enabled solutions (LLM APIs, RAG, vector stores, LangChain or similar).\n\n- Proven experience with microservices, event-driven architecture, domain-driven design, and design patterns.\n\n- Strong grasp of containerization and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes).\n\n- Experience with architecture frameworks and documentation (TOGAF, C4 model, UML, ADRs).\n\n- Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and presentation skills.\n\nPreferred Qualifications :\n\n- Experience with Kafka, RabbitMQ, or cloud-native messaging services.\n\n- Caching and search technologies (Redis, Elasticsearch/OpenSearch).\n\n- Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, CloudFormation, Pulumi).\n\n- Observability stack (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK, OpenTelemetry).\n\n- Experience with MLOps or AI platform services (SageMaker, Azure OpenAI, Vertex AI, Amazon Bedrock).\n\n- Cloud architect certifications (AWS Solutions Architect Professional, Azure Solutions Architect Expert, GCP Professional Cloud Architect).\n\n- TOGAF or similar architecture certification.\n\n- Experience in a specific domain (e.g., Educational Technology, SaaS).\n\nKey Competencies :\n\n- Strategic and systems thinking.\n\n- Strong decision-making under ambiguity.\n\n- Ability to balance technical
