The Lead Security Architect engages closely with the customer's cybersecurity leadership and architecture teams, represents Unisys in the customer's security governance forums, and acts as the programme's security subject matter expert, providing expertise into the assessment, strategy, migration planning, and architecture functions.\nEssential Skills, Knowledge and Experience\nProfessional Experience\nExtensive years of experience in security architecture, cybersecurity consulting, or security engineering, with demonstrated depth and breadth across cloud, infrastructure, identity, network, and endpoint security.\n\nProven experience delivering security architecture for complex, large-scale application migration programmes to Azure and AWS target clouds.\n\nExperience working within government or other highly regulated environments, including experience supporting Australian Government\n\nExperience conducting security assessments, architecture reviews, and remediation planning, and supporting projects through design, implementation, and operational transition.\n\nTrack record of owning the security architecture outcome of a customer-facing programme alongside a delivery lead and a technical/enterprise architecture lead, with a clear division of accountability between the three.\n\nTechnical Knowledge\nStrong understanding of the Information Security Manual (ISM), the Protective Security Policy Framework (PSPF), the Essential Eight, and security assurance practices, including IRAP.\n\nPractical knowledge of cloud platforms (Azure and AWS), infrastructure, networking, endpoint security, and identity technologies, including modern authentication and privileged access management.\n\nWorking knowledge of Australian Government AI governance, including the Policy for the Responsible Use of AI in Government, its AI Impact Assessment Tool, the National AI Centre's Guidance for AI Adoption, and the National AI Plan for the Australian Public Service, sufficient to assess proposed AI tooling for a federal government customer.\n\nFamiliarity with the Commonwealth Procurement Rules (CPRs), the Privacy Act 1988, and the Public Governance, Performance and Accountability Act 2013 (PGPA) as they bear on security and data-handling obligations.\n\nLeadership and Stakeholder Skills\nStrong stakeholder management and communication skills across business, technical, and executive audiences, including CISOs and governance boards.\n\nAbility to lead and develop a team of security architects while remaining hands-on with technical detail.\n\nStrong judgement in balancing security risk, delivery pace, and innovation, particularly when assessing new tooling or AI capability for a security-conscious customer.\n\nYou will be successful in this role if you have:\nBachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience.\n\nNV1 Security Clearance (Mandatory).\n\nUnisys is proud to be an equal opportunity employer that considers all qualified applicants without regard to age, caste, citizenship, color, disability, family medical history, family status, ethnicity, gender, gender expression, gender identity, genetic information, marital status, national origin, parental status, pregnancy, race, religion, sex, sexual orientation, transgender status, veteran status or any other category protected by law.\nLocal employment practices and rights may vary by jurisdiction and are subject to applicable local laws.
