Apply today!\nJob Overview and Responsibilities\nThe Engineer- Application Cybersecurity helps validate that our services, applications, and websites are designed and implemented in accordance with United’s secure development standards. The engineer works closely with development teams, product teams, and other teams across the organization to integrate security into the product lifecycle from design through deployment.\nThe engineer will support the enforcement of security requirements, performing application security assessments, and providing developers with remediation guidance and advice.\nPerform code analysis of applications, manually and using application security testing solutions including mobile application security tests as well as conducting manual vulnerability analysis, and assisting product teams with vulnerability remediation\nImprove the accessibility of security through automation, continuous integration pipelines, and other means including but not limited to developing and maintaining CI/CD templates\nResearch, define and communicate security best practices and standards and ensure products development teams understand them\nSupport security architecture design reviews and threat modelling of our products\nQualifications\nWhat’s needed to succeed (Minimum Qualifications):\nBachelor's degree required, STEM field preferred\nMinimum of 2 years of relevant experience or ECDLP\nWorking knowledge of OWASP Top 10 and CWE 25\nExperience designing, developing, or integrating AI-powered security agents and automated workflows to enhance vulnerability triage, exploitability analysis, secure code review, remediation and/or continuous security assurance across the SDLC\nBasic understanding of threat modeling\nBasic understanding of DevSecOps (e.g., CI/CD)\nWorking knowledge with application testing (e.g., SAST, DAST, MAST, RAST, IAST)\nWorking knowledge of programming languages and scripting\nBasic understanding of SDLC process\nBasic understanding of web and app security stack (e.g., API security)\nBasic understanding of cloud technologies and security\nBasic understanding of vulnerability management processes and proficiency in providing remediation guidance\nBasic technical understanding of authentication and authorization flows in web applications\nAbility to work independently and self-motivate\nExcellent problem solving, critical thinking, interpersonal, collaboration, written and verbal communication skills\nMust be legally authorized to work in the United States for any employer without sponsorship\nSuccessful completion of interview required to meet job qualification\nReliable, punctual attendance is an essential function of the position\nWhat will help you propel from the pack (Preferred Qualifications):\nIAWS Certified Solutions Architect - Associate\nCertified Application Security Engineer\nExperience with any combination of the following: threat modeling, AI powered-security agents, secure coding, identity management and authentication, software development, cryptography, system administration and network security, cloud computing\nExperience with AWS technologies\nWorking knowledge of C#, Java, Python, Swift, JavaScript, generative AI/LLMs, agent orchestration frameworks, and API integrations to build scalable security automation.
